We are seeking a Business Analyst to lead the business and functional analysis for a new autocallable / structured products front-to-back platform in London. You will collaborate with Front Office, Middle Office, Back Office, Risk and Technology to define requirements and designs across booking, market data, risk/P&L and reporting systems. The role requires strong knowledge of Fixed Income and Equity-linked structured products and their lifecycle events, as well as experience with end-to-end transaction processing including booking, valuation, P&L and reporting. Principal responsibilities include leading requirements gathering, documenting end-to-end processes, producing functional specs and coordinating UAT and sign-offs.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Lead requirements gathering and analysis for autocallable / structured product booking and lifecycle across internal front office and trade booking systems (trade capture, events, P&L, reporting).
- Define and document front‑to‑back business processes (FO → MO → BO → Risk), including trade entry, security/underlying setup, lifecycle events (fixings, coupons, barriers, autocalls, maturities), EOD valuation and reconciliations.
- Produce functional specifications and interface definitions for integrations between internal booking, security/reference data, risk/P&L and reporting systems, and associated data feeds.
- Work with architects and developers to design data models and flows for trades, cashflows, positions, P&L and reference data, ensuring consistency across internal systems.
- Coordinate and execute UAT and end‑to‑end test cycles (including lifecycle scenarios and EOD runs), define test cases, manage defects, and obtain user sign‑offs from FO, MO, BO and Risk.
- Support operational reporting design for Middle Office using data from internal risk/P&L and reporting platforms (positions, lifecycle events, exceptions).
- Act as the primary business point of contact for the autocallable programme, ensuring alignment with stakeholders and clear communication of scope, risks and timelines.
Qualifications/Skills Required:
- At least 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst in the Financial industry, preferably in Investment Banking or Asset Management.
- Strong knowledge of Fixed Income and Equity‑linked structured products, with hands‑on experience of their lifecycle events (fixings, coupons, barrier observations, autocalls, step‑downs, maturities) and their impact on positions, cashflows and P&L.
- Proven experience working with front‑to‑back architectures involving multiple internal trading, risk, P&L and reporting systems.
- Solid understanding of trade processing: trade entry, lifecycle management, valuation/pricing, settlement, clearing and reporting.
- Experience specifying and testing interfaces and data feeds (message‑based architectures, Kafka or similar), including trade, cashflow, position/P&L and reference data flows.
- Strong experience producing high‑quality BA artefacts: business requirements, functional specifications, data flow diagrams, use cases, test plans and test cases.
- Demonstrated ability to run UAT / E2E tests, including detailed lifecycle scenarios for structured products; able to write test cases, manage defects, and work closely with developers and vendors to resolve issues.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to face off to Front Office, Middle Office, Back Office, Risk and external vendors.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, able to understand complex products and systems and translate them into clear requirements and designs.
- Ideally, experience with Murex or an equivalent front‑to‑back trading / risk / booking platform; familiarity with market data platforms, valuation engines, and enterprise reporting platforms is an advantage.
