Moody's Data Operations Specialist II supports document downloads, data capture, and data quality assurance for rating analysts in the designated Line of Business. The role involves administrative tasks such as publishing and preparing research templates, monitoring shared mailboxes, and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines. It requires collaboration with technical teams, escalation of complex issues or data inconsistencies, and delivering high-quality client service across a high volume of transactions. This position is part of Moody's Global Middle Office, focusing on operational process improvements and developing knowledge of financial instruments and business practices.

At Moody's, we unite the brightest minds to turn today’s risks into tomorrow’s opportunities. We do this by striving to create an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome to be who they are—with the freedom to exchange ideas, think innovatively, and listen to each other and customers in meaningful ways. Moody’s is transforming how the world sees risk. As a global leader in ratings and integrated risk assessment, we’re advancing AI to move from insight to action—enabling intelligence that not only understands complexity but responds to it. We decode risk to unlock opportunity, helping our clients navigate uncertainty with clarity, speed, and confidence.

If you are excited about this opportunity but do not meet every single requirement, please apply! You still may be a great fit for this role or other open roles. We are seeking candidates who model our values: invest in every relationship, lead with curiosity, champion diverse perspectives, turn inputs into actions, and uphold trust through integrity.

Skills and Competencies

  • Entry-level role; 1–2 years of relevant work or internship experience preferred, especially in financial data or product environments.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately and independently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying business concepts to senior stakeholders.
  • Highly organized, efficient, and self-motivated with minimal need for supervision.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Client-focused mindset with strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, and a passion for delivering results.
  • Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools can be used to improve processes and drive efficiency. Interest in exploring AI systems and a willingness to develop awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use.

Education

  • Undergraduate/first-level degree (E.g. Bachelor’s degree) is preferred ideally within a financial discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Support document download processes, including manual downloads, issue resolution, and contributing to future operational improvements.
  • Assist with new deal setup, data capture (e.g., amendments), lifecycle maintenance, and data quality assurance for rating analysts in the designated Line of Business (LOB).
  • Perform administrative tasks such as data updates, rating actions, publishing, and preparing research and press release templates in compliance with regulatory and internal guidelines.
  • Monitor shared mailboxes to manage internal and external client requests efficiently, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Collaborate with technical teams and escalate complex issues or data inconsistencies, while resolving basic client inquiries and supporting analysts with follow-ups.
  • Build strong client relationships and deliver high-quality service across a high volume of transactions, demonstrating professionalism and flexibility under pressure.
  • Provide backup coverage for team members, liaise with other departments, and continue developing knowledge of financial instruments and business practices.
