Senior Manager in PwC's Financial Services Technology Data and Resilience team leading the development and delivery of enterprise data strategy, governance and BCBS 239‑aligned risk data programmes for banking clients. The role drives data architecture, tooling and technology enablement, regulatory advisory (Basel III/IV, stress testing, COREP/FINREP), stakeholder engagement, business development and large-scale change delivery.
About the role:
Our Financial Services Technology Data and Resilience (TDR) team helps FS firms navigate a fast-moving regulatory landscape while helping them to manage complex data and technology environments. From shaping data strategies to uplifting their data maturity through enhanced data management practices, we combine deep sector insight with leading technology to solve problems alongside our clients. .
What your days will look like:
- Data Strategy:Lead the development of enterprise-wide data strategies, data policies, and operating models, embedding sustainable data management and AI/ML practices, while ensuring compliance with global regulatory standards, such as BCBS 239 and aligning with sector-specific operational requirements.
- Data Governance Leadership:Lead engagements to design and implement enterprise-wide data governance frameworks aligned with BCBS 239 principles, data quality standards, and risk data aggregation requirements.
- Strategic Data Transformation: Define and deliver data operating models, policies, and governance structures to meet evolving regulatory and business demands. .
- Regulatory Advisory: Advise on prudential and risk data management requirements across Basel III/IV, FRTB, MiFID II, and stress testing.
- Risk Data Architecture: Oversee reviews and redesigns of risk and finance data architecture, lineage and control frameworks to ensure regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.
- Technology Enablement: Drive adoption of modern data platforms and automation technologies to enhance governance, lineage, and reporting processes.
- DataTooling: Lead or advise on the selection, design, and implementation of data management tooling ecosystems, encompassing metadata management, data glossaries, data lineage, data quality, data modelling, observability, and data marketplaces. Apply emerging technologies and GenAI solutions to enhance automation, insight generation, and data governance effectiveness across banking data environments.
- Business Development: Deliver added value to clients by identifying opportunities and offering insights and solutions to enhance their data governance and management strategies. Collaborate across PwC and with clients to achieve sustained outcomes across the full data lifecycle - from assessment and design to implementation and optimization.
- Stakeholder Management: Communicate complex regulatory and data topics clearly to senior business and technology stakeholders. Build alignment around strategy, policy, and governance priorities to drive effective decision-making.
- Project Leadership: Lead multi-disciplinary teams to deliver data and regulatory transformation programmes. Oversee quality, scope, and outcomes while embedding AI/ML and advanced tooling to enhance performance and insight.
- Change Management: Shape and deliver large-scale business and data change initiatives. Develop practical strategies to address complex challenges across risk and finance data environments, ensuring sustainable and compliant outcomes
- Client Relationships: Build trusted relationships with senior banking clients, identifying and developing new opportunities to grow PwC’s presence and deliver lasting value
The role is for you if:
- Experience in data governance, data management, or risk data programmes within banking.
- Demonstrable leadership of complex BCBS 239 or data regulatory remediation programmes.
- Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks (DCAM, DAMA-DMBOK) and risk data aggregation principles.
- Proven experience advising on Basel III/IV, stress testing, capital and liquidity reporting (COREP/FINREP), and related data challenges.
- Expertise in data strategy, metadata management, data quality, and lineage frameworks.
- Familiarity with data tools and technologies (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Ataccama, Alteryx, Power BI).
- Demonstrated business development success, proposal leadership, and ability to grow key client accounts.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience engaging at C-suite level.
