Join Rabobank as a Data Engineer at the Information Factory Payments & Savings (IFP) and help drive strategic goals through data-driven decisions. IFP is a key data warehouse that processes vast amounts of payments and savings data daily, transforming it into valuable information products. We support business partners with insights and overviews of their products and processes and handle external reporting to regulators and other organisations.
You & Your Role
As a Data Engineering Intern, you will explore the secrets of data flows within a major bank. You will map the entire data journey for selected data flows: from source to dashboard. You will bring structure to complex data, ensuring we know exactly which attributes originate where and how they are ultimately used in reports and dashboards. You will work with tools such as Databricks and Power BI, and query data using SQL. You will also have the opportunity to build dashboards that directly contribute to the business, specifically for our product managers and product owners within Tribe Payments & Savings.
You will be a full member of the team and work independently on your assignment, but you can always spar with experienced colleagues. You will work one or two days a week at our office in Utrecht (Winthontlaan), with the rest of the time spent working independently. Your assignment is broad: from mapping data lineage to building dashboards and optimising data insights.
Examples of Projects/Tasks
- Mapping the entire data flow from source to dashboard for specific data flows
- Building and optimising Power BI dashboards and data insights
- Analysing and visualising data for the Payments & Savings proposition

You & Your Talent
- Enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s programme in data engineering or computer science
- Experience or interest in data visualisation and Power BI
- Knowledge of ETL processes (Extract, Transform, Load)
- SQL proficiency is an advantage
- You work independently and take clear ownership
- You are solution-oriented and analytically strong
- You are curious and think outside the box
