Job Description:

What’s the role

The focal point connects the PI users with the TaCIT + IT team’s team as well as the different disciplines within the MFG site. Some DS MFG sites already have a PI Super User, while other sites have partial tasks locally assigned or are in need to install a super user. This becomes visible in lack of coordination of activities and often rushed work that urgently needs to be done. In some instances the support team assist on a good will effort, however since support teams are central organized and globally focused it is necessary that sites have a local focal point.

In order to operate all PI related activities with a standard way, it is going to be a win-win situation for the MFG sites to have a formal PI Super User installed.

What you will be doing

  • Escalation focal point for end users, and work with PI expert delivery teams to prioritize and manage site incidents, requests and problems
  • Ability to escalate quickly small and urgent PI Tag changes
  • Approve to Start, Stop and monitor Data Collections.
  • Contact point to the IT Service desks and PI Support team for site specific tickets
  • Assist and monitor for bulk tag changes that are executed through global support teams.
  • When new process systems would come online, the Pi support team would discuss with the site super user what would be the best fit for collecting the new data from the new system.
  • Assist in the coordination of application testing and the execution of site acceptance test of solution built or release upgrade.
  • Provide first How-To help to users regarding tag and ace requests, and coordinating change requests to ensure compliance with site standard.
  • Version management for central managed PI Process Book
  • Report building (Excel based) /maintenance
  • End user communication (news letter)
  • DCS / ODH Data Synchronization monitor/report inconsistency
  • Shared Graphics/displays configuration/Maintenance
  • Shared Report building (datalink) /maintenance
  • Participate in all site initiated DCS changes, that potentially impact interfaces to PI and OPC
  • Maintains a list of all site specific Projects and Initiatives on DCS
  • Acts a coordinator between site and IT/IM Manager
  • Requests timely recourses from global teams (MFG CC, ESDV Support, TLS, PTE, …) when site projects are on schedule
  • Central Managed Process Book Displays and DL
  • PI Manual Logger (some sites Manual Input)
  • Monitor plant operational changes and report to support team
  • Support Proces Technologist with developing and implementing calculations in CV editor
  • Ensure that changes to LIMS tags are properly handled and processed in existing calculations or displays

What you bring

  • At least 2-3 years of field and plant experience, instrumentation background
  • 2-5 years’ experience of Working on Control systems or OSI Pi Systems
  • Experienced in Power Automate and Power BI
  • Extensive work on any form of HMI and/or PI Vision
  • Extensive Experience in creating PI AF, PI Analysis, PI notifications and PI vision.
  • Basic understanding of System architecture (Control systems and OSI PI).
  • Knowledge of basic HMI standards for building PI Vision screens.
  • Engineering degree in Instrumentation/Electrical Engineering.
  • Desirable: Certification in PI Vision Advanced or PI System Administration.
