AMD is hiring an AI Software System Design Engineer focused on compiler and runtime optimization for ML workloads (inference and training). The role requires deep knowledge of compiler and runtime stacks (Torch, Triton, LLVM, XLA HLO, graph, ROCm/CUDA) and strong C/C++ and Python skills, with hands-on experience in AI use cases, parallel programming, and performance debugging. You may lead development efforts, define project goals, and collaborate across teams to accelerate next-generation AI compute.

WHAT YOU DO AT AMD CHANGES EVERYTHING At AMD, our mission is to build great products that accelerate next-generation computing experiences—from AI and data centers, to PCs, gaming and embedded systems. Excellent programming skills in C++/C/ASM, Python and software skills, including debugging and performance analysis. Experiences with parallel programming, ideally CUDA C/C++, HIP or computer shader. Experiences with software automation and toolchain (profiler/DCGM) development and debugging. Knowledge of GPU kernel primitive like FA, PA, MOE, MLA development with triton, cutlass, CUDA, cuteDSL etc. Knowledge of model inference optimization process like gemm/convolution tuning, graph optimization and operator fusion. Knowledge of AI frameworks(e.g. vLLM, Sglang, Megatron-LM, Deepspeed, TensorRT, TensorRT-LLM). Knowledge of AI distribution solutions (i.e. EP/CP/TP/PP/DP, DeepEp, DualPipe, PD aggregation etc., KV cache transfer and storage). Knowledge of AI distributed network communication with multi-GPU and multi-node collective communication primitives (NCCL/RCCL), NIC/GPU drivers for RDMA/GDR and high-speed network etc. #LI-FL1 Benefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance.
