Develop and optimize deep learning frameworks (e.g., VLLM, Megatron, PyTorch) on AMD GPUs and implement GPU kernels using Triton/CUDA/HIP. Bring up and optimize AI models for training and inference on AMD hardware, collaborating with internal GPU library teams and open-source maintainers. Contribute code upstream and apply software engineering best practices to deliver scalable, high-performance AI workloads. Familiarize with AI optimization libraries (e.g., flashAttention, TensorRT-LLM, cutlass) and related tooling.

WHAT YOU DO AT AMD CHANGES EVERYTHING At AMD, our mission is to build great products that accelerate next-generation computing experiences—from AI and data centers, to PCs, gaming and embedded systems. Grounded in a culture of innovation and collaboration, we believe real progress comes from bold ideas, human ingenuity and a shared passion to create something extraordinary. Join us as we shape the future of AI and beyond. Together, we advance your career. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop and optimize deep learning frameworks like VLLM, Megatron, PyTorch, etc. on AMD GPU. Develop and optimize GPU kernel based on triton/cuda/hip. Bring up Deep Learning Models on AMD GPU. Collaborate and interact with internal GPU library teams to analyze and optimize training and inference work load for deep learning. Work with open-source framework maintainers and have your code changes integrated upstream. Apply your knowledge of software engineering best practices. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 3+ years working experience in software development or related area. Open Source project experience related to deep learning. Ability to work independently, define project goals and scope, and lead your own development effort. Strong C/C++ or Python programming and software design skills, including debugging, performance analysis, and test design. Knowledge of GPU computing language (CUDA, HIP, Triton) and basic understanding of GPU architecture is required. Familiar with AI framework like vllm, sglang, Megatron, plus model/pipeline optimization with these frameworks are a big plus. Familiar with AI ops usage and optimization libraries, like flashAttention, tensorRT-LLM, cutlass, etc., is a big plus. Familiar with Triton program language and Gluon extension and compiler stack, on top of MLIR/ASM program pipeline optimization, is a big plus. Experience of AI agent coding for example openclaw/Cursor/Claude Code is a plus. #LI-FL1 Benefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance.
