Lead a Hyderabad-based team focused on training software stack releases, nightly performance validation, and regression triage for large-scale AI workloads on AMD Instinct accelerators. Senior Manager – Training Software Release & Performance Infrastructure AMD is looking for a highly motivated technical leader to build and lead a new team in Hyderabad focused on training software stack releases, nightly performance validation, and regression triage for large-scale AI workloads on AMD Instinct™ accelerators. This role is critical to ensuring the quality, stability, and performance competitiveness of AMD’s AI training software ecosystem across PyTorch, JAX, Megatron-LM, and related frameworks. You will start by bootstrapping the team, defining processes and infrastructure, and then scale execution to support regular releases and continuous performance tracking. Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership & Ownership Own end-to-end training software stack releases, including release readiness, validation, and issue tracking. Lead nightly performance regression testing key LLM and multimodal training workloads. Drive test failure triage, root-cause analysis, and resolution across hardware, drivers, kernels, compilers, and frameworks. Define and enforce performance and quality gates for internal and external releases. Team Building & Execution Hire, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering team in Hyderabad. Establish clear on-call, triage, and escalation processes for nightly failures and regressions. Set engineering best practices for CI, benchmarking, automation, and reporting. Cross-Team Collaboration Work closely with global teams across: Frameworks (PyTorch, JAX, Megatron-LM, Torchtitan) ROCm drivers, kernels, compiler, and hardware teams Performance modeling and customer enablement teams Communicate clearly with stakeholders in the U.S., China, and India on release status, risks, and priorities. Required Qualifications Strong background in systems or ML infrastructure engineering, with experience in large software stacks. Hands-on experience with deep learning training frameworks (PyTorch, JAX, Megatron-LM, or similar). Proven ability to lead teams and drive execution across multiple priorities. Experience with CI/CD systems, performance benchmarking, and regression analysis. Solid understanding of GPU/accelerator performance, distributed training, and multi-node systems. Excellent communication skills and experience working with global, cross-functional teams. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting production training releases or nightly CI for large ML platforms. Familiarity with LLM training, MoE models, or large-scale distributed systems. Experience working close to hardware/software co-design or performance optimization.
