Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience developing and sustaining semiconductor fabrication processes in a cleanroom environment.
  • Experience in one or more conventional wafer fabrication areas such as automated wafer level probing or optical inspection.

Preferred qualifications:

  • PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience working in semiconductor or Micro-Electro-Mechanical-System (MEMS) in research, development, or production environments with auto electrical tests and inspection.
  • Experience with data analysis and visualization tools such as JMP, Python, or SQL.
  • Experience in a collaborative software environment (e.g., version control, code review, style guides, etc.) building tools for other engineers and end-users.
  • Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC), Manufacturing Execution System (MES), change control, or Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) writing.

Google Quantum AI's mission is to build and unlock solutions to problems, and the team's roadmap is focused on advancing the capabilities of quantum computing and enabling meaningful applications. In this role, you will develop and sustain wafer/chip electrical probing and optical inspection processes in a semiconductor clean room environment. You will work with cross-functional teams and also work to collaborate with teammates.

The full potential of quantum computing will be unlocked with a large-scale computer capable of complex, error-corrected computations. Google Quantum AI's mission is to build this computer and unlock solutions to classically intractable problems. Our roadmap is focused on advancing the capabilities of quantum computing and enabling meaningful applications.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $147,000-$216,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Test and characterize Google’s next generation quantum devices.
  • Develop new process for in-situ device electrical property modification and testing.
  • Develop and sustain strategies, recipes, and metrology processes for electrical-probing and Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) to meet device development requirements.
  • Provide on-demand characterization, equipment troubleshooting, and process stability.
  • Implement procedures, create documentation for new processes, and train engineers, technicians, and operators on production tool sets.
