Lead a team of Applied AI and Machine Learning specialists within Google's Rapid Innovation and Specialist Engineering (RISE) organization to deliver mission-critical AI solutions for U.S. public sector customers. Define and execute the technical strategy for Google Cloud's AI platform in the public sector, with a focus on Gemini for Government, Vertex AI, and related services, and drive customer success through advanced demos, PoCs, and architectural guidance. Serve as the organization's executive-level technical expert for the Applied AI portfolio, mentoring the team and acting as a trusted advisor to customers on their AI journey. Collaborate across RISE to deliver integrated, end-to-end solutions.

Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience in a technical role focused on artificial intelligence and machine learning.
- 5 years of experience in a leadership role managing customer-facing technical teams.
- Experience in one or more of the following domains: Generative AI, Natural Language Processing (NLP), Computer Vision, or Machine Learning Operations (MLOps).
- Active or the ability to obtain Top Secret security clearance.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related field with a focus on AI/ML.
- Experience with Google Cloud's AI and machine learning products (e.g., Gemini for Government, Vertex AI, BigQuery ML, and other AI services).
- Experience working with public sector customers (Federal, State, Local, and Education).
- Understanding of responsible AI principles and their application in regulated environments.
- Ability to lead and execute complex, customer-facing technical engagements such as Proof-of-Concepts and deep architectural reviews.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to audiences.

Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and mentor the Applied AI and Machine Learning specialist engineering team within the RISE organization.
- Drive customer success through advanced technical demonstrations, Proof of Concepts (PoCs), and architectural guidance for mission-critical AI issues.
- Define and execute the technical strategy for Google Cloud's AI platform in the public sector, with a focus on Gemini for Government, Vertex AI, and other applied AI solutions.
- Collaborate closely with leaders across the RISE organization including Data and Analytics, Security, Rapid Innovation, and Platform Engineering to deliver integrated, comprehensive solutions.
- Engage with key public sector customers to understand their unique needs and act as a trusted advisor on their AI journey; serve as the organization's executive-most technical expert for the Applied AI portfolio, guiding both your team and our public sector customers.
