Join Google's YouTube Safety team to help protect YouTube's platform by developing machine learning classifiers across video, image, and livestream content. You will design and implement classifiers using multiple modalities (video, image, audio, transcripts, metadata) and apply novel ML methods to address Trust and Safety challenges. You will collaborate with Research, Operations, and Product teams to improve content understanding and decision-making. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree and at least 1 year of software development and ML experience.

Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 1 year of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
- 1 year of experience implementing core ML concepts.
Preferred qualifications:
- 1 year of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- Experience with Machine Learning (ML), Recommender/ranking systems and data analysis (head room analysis/opportunity sizing).

We work in partnership with various Research teams to bring content detection to YouTube.

- Analyze and understand gaps in our content understanding.
- Build classifiers for YouTube videos, live streams, and images using various modalities (e.g., video, image, audio, audio transcripts, metadata).
- Apply novel machine learning methods to manage a variety of Trust and Safety challenges.
- Collaborate with Research, Operations, and Product teams.
