We are seeking a Staff Engineer for Homestack Quality in Google Search. Own the quality and ranking of widgets and content selection problems; build AI models and tune features to improve interactions and drive visits to Search. Lead collaboration with core quality teams (Notifications and Discover) and drive roadmap, quality infrastructure, model development and deployment. This role is based in Bengaluru, India.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development.
  • 5 years of experience with one or more of the following: Speech/audio (e.g., technology duplicating and responding to the human voice), reinforcement learning (e.g., sequential selection making), Machine Learning (ML) infrastructure, or in a related ML field.
  • 5 years of experience in leading ML design and optimizing ML infrastructure (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, data processing, debugging, fine tuning).
  • 5 years of experience in testing, and launching software products.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role with leading project teams and setting technical direction.
  • 3 years of experience with working in a matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
