Join Amazon's Smart Home team as an Applied Scientist focused on Alexa+ Smart Home. You will design and build next-generation voice and ambient controls using the latest large language models and ML methods, collaborating with fellow scientists and software engineers. You will contribute to features that automate daily routines, improve energy, comfort, and safety preferences, and help customers interact with devices more naturally. You will work on a product that resonates with customers and can be used every day.
Key job responsibilities
As an Applied Scientist, you will work with other scientists and software developers to design and build the next generation of Smart Home voice and ambient controls using the latest Large Language Models and ML methods. And, you will have the satisfaction of working on a product your friends and family can relate to, and want to use every day.
About the team
We are a team of Scientists and Machine Learning Engineers that work together to make Alexa+ Smart Home easier to control and manage through voice, and become proactive through ambient intelligence, with feature like automatic actions that help customer meet their energy, comfort and safety preferences.
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of building models for business application experience- PhD, or Master's degree and 4+ years of CS, CE, ML or related field experience
- Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
- Experience in any of the following areas: algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, high-performance computing
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using Unix/Linux- Experience in professional software development

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
