Amazon Logistics (AMZL) is transforming the future of last-mile delivery through Central Operations, a strategic initiative that's revolutionizing how we approach route planning, scheduling, and delivery execution using artificial intelligence and advanced automation. We are seeking a Business Analyst to join our EU Central Operations team, where you'll play a pivotal role in enhancing our delivery network operations through AI-driven insights, intelligent automation, and process improvements.

In this role, you'll work at the intersection of operations, analytics, and artificial intelligence, focusing on complex analytical problems that impact our intra-week forecasting and capacity management processes. You'll partner with cross-functional teams to develop and implement AI-powered solutions that drive operational efficiency, while designing longer-term strategic approaches leveraging machine learning and generative AI technologies.

This role uniquely balances deep business domain expertise with hands-on application of the latest AI technologies. You'll bridge the gap between operational needs and technical innovation, translating business challenges into AI-enabled solutions. Your work will span from developing intelligent agents that automate decision-making processes to creating advanced automations that scale our operations globally.

You'll have the opportunity to work on multiple AI-driven projects, applying your analytical expertise combined with emerging technologies to generate insights that influence business decisions. Using your advanced SQL, programming, and AI capabilities, you'll create intelligent dashboards, develop predictive models, and build autonomous agents that enable proactive operational decisions and help avoid in-station volume risks. You'll partner with various stakeholders including Operations, Data Science, and ML Engineering teams to streamline processes and implement innovstive AI improvements.

Key job responsibilities
AI & Automation Development:
• Design and develop intelligent agents to automate complex decision-making processes
• Build advanced automations using generative AI and machine learning techniques
• Implement AI-powered solutions for forecasting, capacity planning, and risk detection
• Create self-learning systems that continuously improve operational efficiency
• Experiment with emerging AI tools and technologies to solve business problems
• Develop conversational AI interfaces for operational workflows

Analysis & Process Improvement:
• Develop diagnostic analyses using AI/ML models to identify operational inefficiencies and improvement opportunities
• Design and implement AI-driven solutions to automate processes and support intelligent decision-making
• Analyze complex data sets using statistical methods and machine learning to generate predictive insights
• Partner with stakeholders to streamline business processes through intelligent automation
• Optimize daily operational tasks using AI agents and workflow automation
• Monitor and analyze key performance metrics using predictive analytics to identify trends and opportunities proactively

Technical Execution:
• Apply advanced SQL queries and Python programming to extract and analyze data from multiple sources
• Create and maintain AI-enhanced dashboards with predictive capabilities for operational visibility
• Develop machine learning models for forecasting and anomaly detection
• Build and deploy intelligent automation workflows using modern AI platforms
• Integrate generative AI capabilities into business processes • Validate data quality using automated AI-powered validation systems
• Document AI/ML processes and create reusable automation frameworks

Project Management:
• Lead AI transformation projects from conception to deployment
• Balance business requirements with technical AI/ML capabilities
• Provide input on prioritization of AI initiatives and proactively identify automation opportunities • Design short-term AI solutions while developing long-term strategic AI roadmaps
• Balance tradeoffs between time, quality, and resources in AI implementations

Stakeholder Partnership & Innovation:
• Partner with SME teams, Operations, Data Science, and ML Engineering teams
• Influence cross-functional teams to adopt AI-powered solutions
• Present AI analyses, model results, and automation recommendations to leadership
• Build effective working relationships across technical and business functions
• Mentor team members on AI tools, automation techniques, and emerging technologies
• Stay current with latest AI/ML developments and evaluate applicability to business challenges

We utilise creative thinking, continuous improvement initiatives, and innovative AI technologies to get millions of physical products into the hands of our customers. Our Central Operations team is at the forefront of AI transformation, pioneering the use of intelligent agents, advanced automations, and machine learning to revolutionize delivery operations. Our goal is to make our customers' delivery experience as smooth as possible and roll out global AI-powered delivery solutions.

Basic Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, Transportation, Mathematics, Economics, Physics or another technical field

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree or above in an advanced technical degree field
- Experience with AI/ML platforms, generative AI tools (e.g., Amazon Bedrock, OpenAI), or automation frameworks
- Experience writing business requirements documents, functional specifications, and use cases for AI implementations
- Experience with industry analytics visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, QuickSight, MicroStrategy, PowerBI) and statistical methods
- Experience with business intelligence reporting tools and creating AI-enhanced dashboards
- Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new AI technologies quickly
