Director leads Amazon's Brand Protection portfolio, including automated IP protection solutions, brand identity verification, and brand-facing tools to discover and report infringements. The role drives architectural transformation, ML/AI system development, and scaling of data pipelines and GenAI capabilities across global teams. It demands high-stakes decision making across business, technical, and operational units while delivering cost-effective, scalable protections and engaging with external industry partners. The position requires deep technical leadership and the ability to translate business models into technically robust solutions.
Key job responsibilities
• Lead the architectural transformation and modernization of Brand Protection's foundational systems, including consolidating detection pipelines, modernizing data telemetry systems, and scaling GenAI capabilities
• Drive technical strategy across multiple engineering teams while making architectural decisions with long-term implications
• Own the development and scaling of sophisticated ML/AI systems, including LLMs and automated enforcement solutions
• Architect and deliver solutions that can process billions of ASIN evaluations monthly while reducing operational costs
• Drive high-judgment decisions on brand protection strategies and priorities with significant business and reputational impact
• Synthesize and contextualize complex business models and considerations across Brands, Amazon, and sellers
• Serve as a subject matter expert in external engagements with industry leaders and brand associations
• Balance multiple stakeholder interests while driving technical innovation and operational excellence
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent experience• Proven track record of making high-stakes business decisions with material impact
• Demonstrated ability to influence and drive alignment across senior stakeholders
• 10+ years of software development leadership experience, including managing enterprise-scale services and systems.
• Technical experience with modern ML/AI architectures, data infrastructure, and scalable systems
Preferred Qualifications
• Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field• Experience leading technical transformation of legacy systems at scale
• Track record of building and scaling GenAI/LLM solutions
• Experience in IP protection, trust and safety, or risk management

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
