As an intern in Deutsche Börse Group's Market Data + Services Business Operations, you will support the team in monitoring real-time data streams, data quality checks, and operational workflows. Your area of work

Market Data + Services Business Operations operates and supervises the market data of Deutsche Börse Group and delivers market data to external data vendors and all European National Competent Authorities like BaFin. It ensures safe and orderly market data reporting and runs the customer help desks for related market data and all Regulatory Reporting Systems. As an intern/working student you will be actively helping the team that supports market participants in all functional related questions, performs quality assurance of market data distribution, contributes to system and data model changes as well as handles exceptional situations.

 

Your responsibilities:

  • You support the team in running and refining automated monitoring workflows for real‑time data streams, reference data, system interfaces, and emergency processes, helping to ensure stable and predictable operations. You assist in analyzing alerts and anomaly‑detection outputs to reduce manual checks and identify potential issues early
  • You assist in overseeing automated market‑data distribution pipelines by supporting data quality checks and helping analyze machine‑learning‑supported controls to detect irregularities and safeguard data accuracy across delivery channels
  • You support the team in providing fast, AI‑supported functional support for customer inquiries from banks, data vendors, and financial institutions. You help apply data‑driven analysis to investigate root causes and contribute to resolving technical or content‑related issues
  • You assist in product rollouts, release cycles, and change‑management activities, supporting testing, validation, and documentation tasks and learning how automation is embedded into operational deployment processes
  • You contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by helping identify automation opportunities, documenting manual processes, supporting data analysis, and assisting in making workflows more efficient, robust, and scalable

 

Your profile:

  • You are currently enrolled in a degree program in economics, business administration, IT, data science, or a comparable field
  • You have a strong interest in data, operations, and how automation and AI can improve everyday workflows
  • You have interest and basic knowledge in market data, trading, and financial regulation (e.g. MIFIR, EMIR)
  • You think analytically and enjoy breaking down problems, exploring data, and turning insights into practical improvements
  • You have a service‑oriented mindset and are motivated to understand clients’ needs and quality requirements in a financial‑market environment
  • You communicate clearly and enjoy working in an international, collaborative team
  • You are motivated, reliable, and eager to learn in a fast‑paced, technology‑driven environment
  • You are comfortable with Microsoft Office applications; first exposure to Python, SQL, or data analysis tools is a plus
