Join Barclays as a Senior Analyst - Balance Transfer Analytics, supporting the Balance Transfer program for existing credit card customers. You will lead analytics, financial valuation, and optimization strategies in partnership with Modeling and Marketing to drive data-driven targeting and profitability. The role focuses on performance monitoring, simulation analysis, and test design, with responsibilities to adapt BT strategies for newly acquired portfolios and enhance reporting infrastructure. This position is based in Wilmington, DE.

Join us as a Senior Analyst - Balance Transfer Analytics. In this role, you will support the Balance Transfer (BT) program at Barclays, where you will play a critical role in driving analytics, financial valuation, and optimization strategies for existing credit card customers. Partnering closely with Modeling, and Marketing, you will help shape data-driven targeting strategies that support USCB’s profitability goals. You will focus on performance monitoring, simulation analysis, and test design to continuously improve the effectiveness of the BT program. You will also support the adaptation of BT strategies for newly acquired portfolios and enhance reporting infrastructure to improve insight delivery and speed to market.

To be successful as a Senior Analyst - Balance Transfer Analytics, you should have:

  • Advanced data analysis using Python, SAS, and SQL
  • Financial modeling and valuation (NPV, EV, profitability analysis)
  • Statistical analysis and simulation modeling
  • Credit card or lending analytics, including balance transfer strategies
  • Reporting and dashboard development with ample KPI focus

  • Ability to translate complex data into clear business insights
  • Effective cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder communication

Purpose of the role

To use innovative data analytics and machine learning techniques to extract valuable insights from the bank's data reserves, leveraging these insights to inform strategic decision-making, improve operational efficiency, and drive innovation across the organisation. 

Accountabilities

  • Identification, collection, extraction of data from various sources, including internal and external sources.
  • Performing data cleaning, wrangling, and transformation to ensure its quality and suitability for analysis.
  • Development and maintenance of efficient data pipelines for automated data acquisition and processing.
  • Design and conduct of statistical and machine learning models to analyse patterns, trends, and relationships in the data.
  • Development and implementation of predictive models to forecast future outcomes and identify potential risks and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to seek out opportunities to add value from data through Data Science.

  • Requires in-depth technical knowledge and experience in their assigned area of expertise
  • Thorough understanding of the underlying principles and concepts within the area of expertise
