The Research and Analytics Manager will produce quantitative research and insightful analysis to support global marketing and sales materials for Franklin Templeton’s international distribution. You will interpret and analyze financial and industry data, maintain product content accuracy, and build comparative illustrations and dashboards using tools like Excel, Bloomberg, Morningstar Direct, Tableau and PowerBI. The role involves partnering with internal stakeholders, acting as a subject-matter expert for analytics systems, and recommending data-driven marketing improvements.

About the Department


The Marketing Research and Analysis team is part of the International Investment Marketing Group which supports International Distribution (ex-U.S. domestic); this includes Canada, Americas Offshore, EMEA and APAC lines of business (Retail and Institutional). The Marketing Research and Analysis team is responsible for providing quantitative research and insightful analysis behind the compelling product stories and content that bring to life our product offerings. The department acts as the market and data expert throughout the organization. The role of Research and Analytics Manager provides exposure to global markets, deep product expertise, and the opportunity to influence high‑visibility marketing initiatives.

How You Will Add Value

Core Responsibilities

  • You will independently interpret and analyze financial data to update and create accurate, compliant sales and marketing literatures.

  • You will independently research and analyze industry data to develop statistics and comparative illustrations for external sales and marketing applications across Canada, Americas Offshore, EMEA and APAC.

  • You will ensure strategy and product content remains current and aligned.

  • You will develop extensive knowledge of investment philosophies, strategies, positions and processes to support product stories.

  • You will review quantitative content to ensure accuracy and rigor.

  • You will identify data sources and extract/manage data using Bloomberg Professional, Macrobond, Morningstar Direct and other platforms.

Strategic Responsibilities

  • You will interpret business partner needs and manage ongoing relationships.

  • You will contribute to custom data‑template production with minimal oversight.

  • You will act as subject matter expert for assigned analytics systems.

  • You will recommend new products based on research insights and partner feedback.

  • You will support development of dashboards and data tools using Tableau and PowerBI.

Team & Collaboration

  • You will build long‑term, proactive relationships with internal partners and data providers.

  • You will support a collaborative, client‑focused team culture.

What Will Help You Be Successful

Experience, Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (Business Administration, Finance, Information, or Information Science)

  • 4–5 years related experience in financial services, consulting, research or data services

  • Completion or progress toward Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement (CIPM) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) preferred

  • Completion of Canadian Securities Course (CSC) desirable

  • Deep knowledge of mutual fund industry, capital markets and product structures

Technical Skills

  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills

  • Skilled with Bloomberg Professional, Macrobond and Morningstar Direct

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel (formulas, charts, pivot tables, macros)

  • Familiarity with Tableau and PowerBI

Soft Skills

  • Strong communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Work Schedule & Location

Work location is expected to primarily be in-office in Toronto.
