The Analyst, Financial Crime Detection will apply advanced analytics to proactively identify financial crime risks and design/validate AML models. The role involves implementing and testing models, monitoring performance, and handling large, complex data sets to produce actionable insights for both technical and non-technical audiences. It supports regional analytics initiatives, data infrastructure improvements, data quality reviews, and model calibration across the organisation. A strong foundation in Python, SQL/SAS, Hadoop ecosystem, and familiarity with financial crime themes is required or advantageous.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of ANALYST, Financial Crime Detection.

Principal responsibilities

  • Use advanced analytical skills to pro-actively search for financial crime risks, design and develop Compliance models
  • Support the implementation of various AML model
  • Undertake testing and/or validation to assure the model deployed in the region are fit-for-purpose
  • Exercises responsibility for updates to existing models through regular monitoring and validation of results
  • Work with large, complex data sets; contribute to processes for building management information (MI)
  • Interpret data and model, generate insights for both technical and non-technical audiences and users
  • Support regional analytics initiatives and projects, including data infrastructure, data quality reviews and enhancement, system improvements and model calibration, etc

Requirements

  • Degree holder or above in Finance, Mathematics, Risk Management, Statistics, IT or a related field.
  • Work actively as part of a dynamic team – often located in different countries and time zones - including taking on unfamiliar/difficult tasks when necessary.
  • Sound judgment and problem solving skills, ability to think laterally.
  • Experience working within the Hadoop ecosystem in addition to strong technical skills in analytical languages such as R, SQL, SAS. Experience on using Visualization tools (Tableau, Qlikview, QlikSense).
  • Proficient in Python.
  • Experience in applying machine learning techniques an advantage.
  • Strong ability to large datasets: analyse multiple, complex data sets.
  • Knowledge and/or background in financial crime themes, such as money laundering, terrorism financing and sanction evasion is a plus.

Candidate with less relevant experience or skills may be offered a lower Global Career Band than stated above.

Due to the urgent hiring need, candidates with immediate right to work locally and no relocation need will be prioritised.
