HSBC is seeking an Associate in Client Insight Analytics to support analytics initiatives that map client journeys, analyse customer experience, and generate commercially relevant insights by integrating internal and external data. The role involves managing external market data sources, performing advanced analytics (including NLP and deep learning), and building data visualisations and dashboards to inform CIB leadership and relationship teams. The person will collaborate across stakeholders to translate client feedback and market intelligence into actionable recommendations and help streamline analytics practices across the organisation.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Associate, Client Insight Analytics.

In this role you will:

  • Client Journey Analytics:
Support the development and execution of analytics initiatives that map and evaluate the client journey. Leverage client feedback and survey data to identify opportunities, assess wallet share, and measure customer value.
  • Customer Experience Analytics:
Leverage internal and external survey data—including Voice of the Client and other structured feedback mechanisms to conduct advanced analytics on customer experience.
  • External Data Management:
Assist in the identification, evaluation, and management of external market data sources, ensuring data quality, compliance, and optimal business value.
  • Data Integration & Insight Generation:
Integrate data from internal platforms (e.g., CIB DL, CME, Omnia) with external datasets and client feedback. Develop comprehensive, commercially relevant insights using advanced analytics and data visualisation techniques.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration:
Work closely with CIB leadership, relationship managers, product, and service teams to ensure analytics outputs are aligned with business objectives and support client relationship management.
  • Analytics Community Engagement:
Contribute to cross-functional analytics initiatives, sharing best practices and supporting efforts to streamline analytics processes and eliminate duplication across teams.
  • Market Intelligence:
Monitor and analyse market trends, competitor positioning, and emerging client needs, translating findings into actionable recommendations for commercial strategy.

To be successful you will need:

  • Technical Data Analysis:
Demonstrated experience in analysing complex datasets from multiple sources and translating findings into actionable business insights.
  • Domain Knowledge:
Solid understanding of Corporate & Institutional Banking, client lifecycle, and key performance indicators relevant to the sector.
  • Data Management:
Experience in sourcing, evaluating, and managing external market data. Familiarity with compliance and data governance standards.
  • Technical Proficiency:
  • Proficient in data integration from platforms such as CIB DL, Omnia and CME, as well as client feedback tools (Voice of the Client, NPS).
  • Proficiency in Python, with strong familiarity across relevant libraries and packages for statistical analysis, NLP, and deep learning.
  • Working knowledge of SQL for data querying and extraction.
  • Experience with data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) for creating impactful dashboards and reports.
  • Exposure to advanced analytics and emerging technologies (e.g., Generative AI) is desirable.
  • Communication & Stakeholder Management:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex technical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Project Delivery:
Proven ability to contribute to business optimisation and innovation projects, working effectively in dynamic, cross-functional environments.
  • Inclusive Mindset:
Commitment to fostering an inclusive team culture and valuing diverse perspectives for enhanced problem-solving.
  • Experience in data analytics, client insights, or market intelligence within corporate, institutional, investment, or transaction banking.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Business, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or a related quantitative field is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts such as credit risk, revenue drivers, capital allocation, and return metrics (e.g., RWA, RoRWA, RoTE).
