Data Analyst

Role purpose:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Analytics Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for case management and delivering insightful ad-hoc analytics to support our HR and organizational decision-making processes. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, a collaborative mindset, and the flexibility to thrive in a heavily matrixed organization.

Main activities:

  • Manage and resolve HR-related data cases efficiently, ensuring accurate and timely responses. (60% of the role)
  • Conduct ad-hoc analytics to provide actionable insights on workforce trends, employee engagement, and other HR metrics.
  • Have full understanding of people dashboards and reports within PowerBI, Excel, SQL, R, or Python to utilise data effectively.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and deliver tailored analytics solutions.
  • Support data extraction and manipulation from cloud databases, with a preference for experience in Oracle, Databricks, or similar platforms.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of analytics processes and tools.
  • Work within an agile environment, adapting quickly to changing priorities and requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Technology/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Economics/ Actuarial Science or equivalent will be preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools like Excel, SQL, Python, or R.
  • Experience with data visualization platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools.
  • Exposure to Azure services, including Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Machine Learning is preferred.
  • Good understanding of data modelling and database management.
  • Experience in interrogating and interpreting data.
  • Good understanding of HR operations, dashboards, and compliance requirements relevant to HR data.
  • Knowledge of data privacy laws and data governance standards specific to the HR data.
  • Excellent communication skills to translate complex data insights into clear, actionable recommendations for banking leadership.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and personnel data with confidentiality and integrity.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, especially in a regulated environment.
  • Collaborative mindset to work effectively with HR, compliance, risk management, and other banking teams.
  • Pro-active, resilient, and tenacious with focus on execution and delivery.
