The Senior Manager of Innovation & Venture at a bank is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and leveraging emerging technologies to enhance business growth, customer experience, and operational efficiency of the bank. This role requires strong collaboration with internal stakeholders, fintech partners, regulators, and external innovation ecosystems to implement cutting-edge solutions aligned with HASE’s digital transformation strategy. The role holder will be responsible for developing and executing the bank’s fintech and innovation strategy, managing an innovation portfolio, and fostering a culture of experimentation and innovation including the commercialization aspects keep up to trend with new technologies such as Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) with cost reduction and efficiency gain as key performance indicators.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our department as Senior Manager, Innovation & Ventures

Principal Responsibilities

• Drive strategic development, Proof-of-Concept (PoC), pilot and commercialization of solutions utilising Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain / DLT by working closely with both the business and IT.
• Develop and drive a bold, future-ready innovation strategies that support Hang Seng’s business goals, including revenue growth, cost optimization and enhanced digital competitiveness. Garner supports from business stakeholders, including C-level executives and business heads.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including fintech companies, venture capital firms, technology providers, industry experts, and academic institutions to explore co-development opportunities.
• Work closely with IT, Risk and other internal stakeholders to define and implement robust technical design, governance and security standards for deploying AI and Blockchain / DLT in a regulated environment.
• Act as a key liaison with regulators to ensure that emerging technology initiatives comply with evolving regulatory framework while driving fintech innovation in the banking sector.
• Act as the go-to expert on fintech, emerging technology and digital disruption, providing technical insights and guidance to senior management and business units
  
  
  
  

Requirements

• Knowledgeable and experienced in the design and implementation lifecycle of AI solutions, including Generative AI, Agentic AI and Large Language Models (LLMs).
• Practical understanding of Blockchain / DLT concepts and fundamentals, including smart contracts, consensus mechnisms, tokenisaton. Experience with enterprise-grade DLT solution (e.g. Hyperledger) is an advantage.
• Excellent project management and organizational skills, with strong ability to influence and drive change within the organization.
• Ability to develop and implement innovative strategies that align with business goals.
• Experience in market analysis and identifying opportunities for growth, particularly in the Fintech space.
• Fluent English and Chinese in written and verbal communication skills, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, lateral thinking, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability.
• Experience in team building and mentoring.
• Passion for technology and innovation.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Fintech, or a related discipline is preferred.
