Data Scientist positions at a major financial services firm in Texas. The role involves identifying cross-line-of-business customer interactions, developing insights and tools using SQL, Python, Tableau and Snowflake; performing financial analyses, shaping KPIs, and applying anomaly detection to monitor small business credit risk and retention. The candidate will work with large, diverse data sources to enhance decision making and proactively detect potential credit risks.

Location: Houston, TX, United States

Duties: Identify and analyze cross-line-of-business involving customer interaction with various financial products and services including checking account and credit card, checking account and loan, for a holistic view of the customer. Develop insights, methods or tools using various analytic methods. Handle large amounts of data from multiple and disparate sources, to ensure efficiency and accuracy. Perform financial analysis using key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate and enhance business decisions. Analyze and categorize descriptions of checking account transactions for enhanced financial insights. Analyze third-party bureau data such as Experian to determine small business clients' credit relationships with other financial institutions to understand overall credit risk. Utilize advanced data analytics to monitor and evaluate customer transactions, inflows and outflows including small business revenue and expenses, facilitating the early detection of potential credit risks. Implement anomaly detection techniques to identify small businesses at risk of closure or attrition, enhancing proactive customer retention strategies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Analytics, Data Science, Data Analytics, or related field of study plus 2 years of experience in the job offered or as Data Scientist, Business Analyst, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires two (2) years of experience with the following: Data manipulation, data structuring, data design flow and query optimization using SQL; Performing tasks automation, data design flow and statistical analysis using Python v3.8 for advanced data manipulation and visualization; Creating visualizations and analyzing business intelligence in Tableau; Performing data handling and query optimization with Snowflake; Running financial analysis such as ROI (Return on Investment) or NPV (Net Present Value) to find value of a financial product; Performing Big data analysis of account transaction text descriptions; Using multivariate regression, logistic regression, decision trees, and cohort analysis for Predictive modeling and Anomaly detection.

Job Location: 8181 Communications Pkwy, Plano, TX 75024.
