As Quantitative Analytics Director on the Point-of-Sale Capabilities team, you will lead a team of analysts dedicated to preventing transactional fraud on Chase Credit and Debit Cards. You will drive the development of advanced fraud controls, leveraging big data, machine learning, and innovative analytic techniques. The role requires collaboration with Product, Operations, IT, and Risk Management to deliver effective fraud mitigation capabilities. You will identify and execute on opportunities to improve fraud models and analytic capabilities. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on fraud prevention and business outcomes.
You will manage the full Point-of-Sale Fraud capabilities function, coaching a team of quantitative analysts in designing and implementing fraud tools and capabilities. The role involves synthesizing complex data, identifying business opportunities, and communicating findings to senior management. You will partner with various Product leads to support key projects, bank growth initiatives, and platform upgrade activities. Your leadership will foster a strong culture of controls and operational excellence. The position challenges you to analyze big data, understand complex systems, and lead large-scale projects.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead and coach a team of quantitative analysts focused on Point-of-Sale fraud tools and capabilities
- Manage the full Point-of-Sale Fraud capabilities function, identifying and executing improvement opportunities
- Develop and implement advanced analytics and machine learning models to prevent transactional fraud on Chase Credit and Debit Cards
- Collaborate with Product, Operations, IT, and Risk Management to drive fraud-based design and support key initiatives
- Identify business opportunities through complex analysis, data mining, and synthesis of findings
- Ensure data integrity and transform raw data into actionable management information
- Communicate clearly and concisely with business partners and senior management
- Drive large-scale projects to enhance fraud decision platforms and technology capabilities
- Promote a strong culture of controls and operational risk management
- Advance analytic techniques and identify new data sources to improve fraud models
- Support strategic vision and growth initiatives for Chase Credit and Debit Card portfolios
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree (or related work experience) in a quantitative discipline in a financial services organization
- 8+ years of experience in fraud, risk, payments, or a related field
- Proven track record in solving business problems and/or project management
- Well-organized, structured approach with ability to achieve tight timelines on complex deliverables
- Advanced understanding of Python, SAS, and SQL
- Ability to query large amounts of data and transform raw data into actionable insights
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience interacting with individuals across departments and with senior-level executives
- Experience in developing and interpreting advanced analytics and machine learning models
- Demonstrated ability to lead and coach teams
- Experience in operational risk and controls within financial services
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Master’s degree (or related work experience) in a quantitative discipline, preferably in a financial services organization
- Experience with transactional fraud prevention
