Based in Santiago, Chile, you will join McKinsey's MineLens team within the Global Energy & Materials practice. MineLens provides mining companies with strategic business intelligence to identify, quantify, and prioritize value creation opportunities in their operations. In this role you will run operational excellence diagnostics at mines, assist clients in data collection, perform quantitative analyses, and incorporate qualitative observations into benchmark reports, while contributing to new product development of mining data analytics. Your qualifications and skills
- Bachelor's degree in mining engineering, industrial engineering, geology or other related area
- Track record in underground mining preferred
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; work proficiency in Spanish and English
- Superior problem-solving and analytical skills with proficiency in business software (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI), mining software, and advanced analytical packages
- Significant understanding of the industry dynamics of the mining sector
- Passion for analytics and interest in developing new approaches to mining data analysis and application to operational improvement
- Willing to work in a highly demanding and result-oriented team environment with periodic travel to remote mining locations
