Based in Santiago, Chile, you will join McKinsey's MineLens team within the Global Energy & Materials practice. Your Impact

You’ll be based in Santiago, Chile, as part of our global MineLens team. MineLens is part of McKinsey’s Global Energy & Materials practice.

MineLens provides mining companies with the strategic business intelligence they need to identify, quantify, and prioritize value creation opportunities in their operations. It combines advanced analytics, a comprehensive database of mining performance benchmarks, and global mining expertise. MineLens enables clients to assess and improve productivity and reduce costs.

You will provide expert client service in strategic and operational topics and contribute to new product development that will help to expand MineLens capabilities.

In this role you will use your expertise in mining to run operational excellence diagnostics at mines to determine potential opportunities for improvement. You will assist clients in data collection, perform quantitative analysis of client data, and incorporate qualitative observations into benchmark reports.

Additionally, you will participate in the new product development of innovative approaches to mining data analytics.

Your qualifications and skills

Bachelor's degree in mining engineering, industrial engineering, geology or other related area
Track record in underground mining preferred
Excellent written and oral communication skills; work proficiency in Spanish and English
Superior problem-solving and analytical skills with proficiency in business software (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI), mining software, and advanced analytical packages
Significant understanding of the industry dynamics of the mining sector
Passion for analytics and interest in developing new approaches to mining data analysis and application to operational improvement
Willing to work in a highly demanding and result-oriented team environment with periodic travel to remote mining locations
