You’ll work with cutting-edge large and small language models and agentic infrastructure to deliver impactful, scalable AI services.

You’ll play a critical role in building and optimizing large-scale AI systems that power real-world applications. Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable AI services for Azure AI Content Understanding and Knowledge team.
  • Collaborate with researchers and engineers to integrate cutting-edge large and small language models into production systems.
  • Drive architecture and implementation decisions that ensure performance, reliability, and maintainability of AI services.
  • Contribute to the development of agentic infrastructure that enables dynamic and intelligent interactions.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence, inclusion, and continuous learning.
  • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and cross-team collaborations to deliver high-quality software.


Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred/Additional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, or Python.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Understanding of machine learning or natural language processing concepts.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP) and microservices architecture.
  • Code tracing abilities.


Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
