Oliver Wyman's Data and Analytics team is hiring an Analyst or Senior Analyst specializing in Private Capital / Equity for our Hyderabad office.

The Oliver Wyman DNA is a distinguished center of excellence for business analytics and data analytics within Oliver Wyman. This group leverages data and information to provide business insights to Oliver Wyman consulting teams driving positive outcomes and tangible impact for Oliver Wyman’s clients. The group combines cutting edge data science expertise with core consulting expertise to augment engagement teams with analytical firepower to deliver outstanding results.

Role Summary:

The Analyst will support private capital and private equity engagements by conducting rigorous data analysis, market research, and financial modeling. The role involves working closely with senior team members on due diligence, valuation, and value creation projects. The Analyst will apply structured analytical thinking, leverage advanced analytics tools, and contribute to high-quality reports and presentations that support client's investment decisions across the deal lifecycle

Key Responsibilities

  • Deploy structured analytics, statistical techniques, and research methodologies to support complex business and investment-related problem solving.

  • Support due diligence and valuation engagements for private equity clients, including buy-side, sell-side, IPO, and post-transaction value realization work.

  • Conduct detailed market, financial, and operational due diligence to support investment decisions and deal-value realization.

  • Develop and maintain financial models, valuation analyses, and data-driven insights using advanced analytics and AI-enabled techniques where applicable.

  • Prepare clear, concise, and well-structured reports and presentations for internal teams and client stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with senior team members to identify risks, growth opportunities, and value creation levers for clients.

  • Support business development activities by gathering market intelligence and contributing to proposal development.

  • Maintain and enhance data management, analysis, and reporting tools using MS Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant software.

  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and proper documentation across analytical deliverables.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • CA / CFA qualification or candidates with strong analyst experience are strongly preferred.

  • MS, certification, or coursework in analytics, finance, or data science is preferred.

Experience & Skills

  • 2+ years of overall experience in data analytics, consulting, or related roles, with at least 1+ year of exposure to market research and/or due diligence engagements.

  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint, with comfort building structured models and presentations.

  • Python and SQL experience is a strong plus

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to translate data into actionable insights.

  • Solid understanding of financial modeling concepts, valuation techniques, and analytical frameworks.

  • Experience with customer and market research techniques, including interviews, surveys, focus groups, and secondary research.

  • Exposure to business research across multiple sectors, preferably within a global consulting or professional services environment.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present analysis clearly to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Experience working with specialized financial and market data sources such as Capital IQ, Factiva, Bloomberg, or similar platforms.

  • Familiarity with GenAI tools and modern analytical techniques is a plus.

  • Quick learner with the ability to rapidly pick up new tools, platforms, and methodologies.

  • High attention to detail, strong ownership mindset, and ability to work collaboratively in fast-paced environments.
