The Action Camera Image Quality System Engineer will be responsible for the design and development of image quality to showcase balance Image Quality (IQ) metrics for Action Cameras. The role involves aspects such as segmentation, stitching, video Bokeh, video lowlight and subjective artifacts optimization, and include both objective and subjective IQ evaluations.
We are seeking a passionate engineer with in-depth knowledge on algorithm design for new image sensor technologies to join the Camera Systems team.
The Camera Systems team creates embedded imaging solutions for Snapdragon chipsets that power advanced mobile devices. Our solutions leverage dedicated hardware, multi-core processors, DSP, and GPU cores to provide state-of-the-art photographs, video recordings, as well as scene data for image understanding and object detection. Responsibilities include the following:
(1) Research and development for next generation camera features and image quality improvement
(2) Prototype solutions on mobile platforms for proof of concept and demonstration purposes
(3) Deployment of solutions that improve the mobile imaging experience.
(4) Design of camera systems that balance power, memory, silicon area to maximize imaging performance
(5) 60%–80% workload for customer support; 20% onsite availability for business travel across APAC and China.
Minimum Qualifications
Overall, the candidate needs to be experienced in the areas of embedded firmware/software development. More specifically, the selected candidate should:
3+ years working experiences in the following areas:
(1) Signal/image processing and IQ tuning experience
(2) Camera and Computer Vision technologies
(3) CMOS sensors and algorithms for sensor and optics processing
(4) Android HAL system design
(5) Multi-camera system design including at least one of following subjects or similar: temporal synchronization, image fusion, depth estimation, dual-camera calibration.
(6) Knowledge of modern machine learning techniques
(7) Customer support/ camera tuning experience
(8) C, C++, Matlab, Python
Preferred Qualifications
Experience required in following areas but not limited to
(1) Design camera feature that requires multiple camera cooperation such as Bokeh, image stitching
(2) Utilize AI to enhance 3A/ISP capabilities and improve image quality such as segmentation map, Noise reduction
(3) Candidates should have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills along with strong coding background
(4) Track record of driving ideas from design through commercialization
(5) Excellent knowledge of C++, capability to design and implement robust, high-performance and flexible system software
(6) Experience in integrating machine learning algorithm into camera systems.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.OR
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
