Two transformational skill pathways—AI, Security & Cryptography Transformation and Enterprise Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) & Digital Thread Transformation—are offered within a single summer internship. You will work on real, production-adjacent initiatives at the core of trust, security, and enterprise modernization, applying AI tools to secure operations and to modernize enterprise platforms. This role includes mentorship from senior engineers and provides hands-on exposure to how large, global platforms are designed, secured, and evolved, with the potential to leave a lasting impact on mission-critical systems.

Company:

Qualcomm Semiconductor Limited

Job Area:

Interns Group, Interns Group > Interim Intern

Qualcomm Overview:

Qualcomm is a company of inventors that unlocked 5G ushering in an age of rapid acceleration in connectivity and new possibilities that will transform industries, create jobs, and enrich lives. But this is just the beginning. It takes inventive minds with diverse skills, backgrounds, and cultures to transform 5Gs potential into world-changing technologies and products. This is the Invention Age - and this is where you come in.

General Summary:

A Once‑in‑a‑Career Opportunity to Shape the Foundations of the Future

Why This Role Is Different

This is not a traditional internship.

This role offers two distinct, high‑impact transformation tracks within one position, allowing you to build rare, career‑defining skills at the intersection of AI, enterprise platforms, and mission‑critical systems. Whether your passion leans toward secure systems and cryptography or large‑scale enterprise digital transformation, this internship places you at the center of work that few engineers ever see this early in their careers.

You will work on real, production‑adjacent initiatives that are shaping how global platforms operate—either by securing trust in a post‑quantum world or by modernizing the digital backbone that powers product innovation at scale.

Two Transformational Skill Pathways – One Internship

Path 1: AI, Security & Cryptography Transformation

Be part of a team operating at the core of trust and security, helping modernize cryptographic services that protect sensitive assets across the enterprise.

In this path, you will:

  • Work alongside engineers preparing systems for the post‑quantum cryptography (PQC) era

  • Apply AI tools and agents to improve secure operations, documentation, and decision‑making

  • Help evolve how cryptographic services are designed, operated, and supported at scale

  • Gain exposure to real-world cryptographic key provisioning and lifecycle management

This is a rare opportunity to contribute to a once‑in‑a‑generation security shift that will define the next decade of computing.

Path 2: Enterprise Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) & Digital Thread Transformation

Join a multi‑year, enterprise‑wide digital transformation modernizing legacy Product Lifecycle Management systems into a future‑ready platform.

In this path, you will:

  • Support the transformation from legacy PLM systems to next‑generation enterprise platforms

  • Work with cross‑functional teams spanning engineering, IT, quality, supply chain, and manufacturing

  • Apply AI to accelerate requirements analysis, documentation, traceability, and automation

  • Gain hands‑on exposure to how large global enterprises modernize mission‑critical systems

This experience offers unmatched insight into how enterprise-scale transformations are executed and governed, with visibility into real business impact.

What You’ll Do (Across Both Paths)

  • Apply AI tools and automation to real enterprise workflows

  • Improve documentation, data quality, and knowledge systems to increase AI effectiveness

  • Participate in analysis, experimentation, prototyping, and optimization activities

  • Collaborate with experienced engineers and transformation leaders

  • Create clear documentation, summaries, and demos to communicate insights and progress

  • Learn how large, complex systems are designed, secured, and evolved over time

Who This Is For

We’re looking for curious, motivated students who want more than a resume line—and who are excited to work on problems that matter.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills

  • Foundational programming experience (e.g., Python, C, or C++)

  • Interest in AI tools, automation, and applied problem solving

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred / Advantage Experience

  • Familiarity with AI tools such as Copilot, ChatGPT, Gemini, or Claude

  • Interest in security, cryptography, enterprise systems, or large‑scale platforms

  • Exposure to enterprise software, systems integration, or lifecycle management concepts

  • Curiosity about how technology decisions impact real businesses at scale

What You’ll Gain

  • Exposure to mission‑critical systems few interns ever touch

  • Hands‑on experience applying AI to real enterprise problems

  • Mentorship from senior engineers and transformation leaders

  • A deep understanding of how global platforms evolve

  • The chance to leave a lasting, visible impact on systems used by thousands

Why You Should Apply

This internship is for those who want to:

  • Work on foundational technology, not side projects

  • Build two rare skillsets that compound over an entire career

  • Be part of transformations that happen once every decade—or more

  • See how the world’s most complex systems are secured and modernized

This is more than an internship.
It’s a launchpad into the future of enterprise technology.
