The two-year Technical Graduate Programme in Geneva offers four structured six-month rotations across Data Science & Engineering, Trading IT and Research Analysis. Graduates develop technical and analytical skills by building trading analytics, machine learning models, full-stack market intelligence applications, and supporting trading and risk systems. Participants work closely with traders and analysts to solve commercial challenges and manage large data platforms and integrations. The programme is aimed at recent graduates (0–2 years postgraduate experience) with strong Python, Java and SQL skills.

Based in our Geneva office and run every two years, the two-year Technical Graduate Programme consists of four structured six-month rotations across Data Science & Engineering, Trading IT and Research Analysis. 

The programme equips graduates with a broad range of technical and analytical skills, offering deep insights into how cutting-edge technology and data drive our trading operations and support commercial decision-making. 

Graduates act as a vital bridge between advanced data science and our trading business, gaining a unique perspective that combines technical expertise with a strategic understanding of global markets. Working alongside some of the brightest minds in technology, they operate at the forefront of innovation powering a leading global business, preparing them to shape the future of global trade. 

Data Science & Engineering supports trading decision-making and supply chain optimisation by providing cutting edge analytics and managing 100's of data sources.

Responsibilities include:

  • Designing and building trading analytics, optimisation algorithms, training machine learning models, and deploying agentic AI.
  • Full stack development of front office market intelligence applications for traders, using Python, Java and REACT.
  • Developing data products and managing a large data platform containing 100's of data sources such as market data, weather data, vessel tracking information, and detailed economic data form across the globe.
  • Working directly with traders and business analyst to solve commercial challenges in real time.

Trading IT delivers and maintains the technology systems that underpin trading, risk and operations functions.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and supporting trading and risk management platforms.
  • Collaborating with business to design technical solutions.
  • Ensuring system stability and performance.
  • Managing data integration across platforms.

Research Analysis provides market insights, commercial analysis and strategic research to support trading and investment decisions.

Responsibilities include:

  • Analysing supply-demand trends and trade flows.
  • Developing pricing models and market forecasts.
  • Monitoring macroeconomic and geopolitical developments.
  • Producing internal research reports and presentations for commercial teams.

Knowledge Skills And Abilities:

  • A minimum of a 3.4 GPA in any field
  • 0-2 years of postgraduate working experience

  • Python: core syntax, data structures, functions, scripting
  • Java: object-oriented programming concepts and syntax
  • SQL: queries, joins, aggregations
  • Excel: formulas, pivot tables

  • Fluency in English - both oral and written
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • High degree of intellectual curiosity, passion, motivation and grit
  • Ability to remove roadblocks and break down barriers to get the job done
  • Passion for working in a collaborative, challenging and dynamic environment
  • A global, innovative mindset
