  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java).
  • 2 years of experience in testing, maintaining, or launching software products.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Experience in working with Android services like Input Method Framework (IMF), or the Android Graphics pipeline.
  • Experience with accessibility principles and technologies on other platforms (e.g., iOS/VoiceOver, web accessibility with Accessible Rich Internet Applications, Narrator).
  • Experience with applying Machine Learning (ML) concepts to solve accessibility tests (e.g., image recognition for screen readers, sound detection).

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality software for Android on tablets and large screen devices, with a focus on core User Interface (UI) components and accessibility services.
  • Integrate accessibility principles into our daily work, ensuring that the features you build provide an excellent experience for users of assistive technologies.
  • Implement polished, user-centric features that enhance productivity and improve interaction on tablets and new Android form factors.
  • Work closely with senior engineers, designers, and product managers to understand feature requirements and translate them into well engineered and tested technical solutions.
  • Contribute to a high standard of engineering excellence by writing clean, reusable code, providing thoughtful code reviews, and adding meaningful test coverage.
