Join Amazon's Emerging Devices Software (EDS) team to design, build, and maintain mobile applications (Android/iOS/React Native) and cloud services for Smart Eyewear. You will own key components of the system, contribute to architecture and long-term maintainability, and write high-quality, production-grade code. You will collaborate with product, UX, QA, and other engineering teams to deliver high-impact features and tackle cross-device challenges across the device-mobile-cloud stack. You will have opportunities to work with senior and principal engineers, gaining exposure to system-level thinking and the long-term technical direction of wearable technology.
EDS org works on emerging product categories with the potential to redefine how customers interact with technology in their daily lives. You’ll design and build mobile and cloud software that integrates seamlessly with Smart Eyewear and other hardware, delivering best-in-class user experiences to customers around the world.
You’ll collaborate with a cross-functional team of engineers, product managers, UX designers, and QA to develop features from concept to launch. You’ll take ownership of components, make design decisions, and contribute to the scalability, reliability, and performance of our systems.
You’ll also have opportunities to work with and receive guidance from Senior and Principal Engineers, gaining exposure to system-level thinking, engineering best practices, and long-term technical direction.

Key job responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain features for mobile applications (Android/iOS/React Native) and cloud services
- Own key components of the system, contributing to architecture, implementation, and long-term maintainability
- Write high-quality, well-tested code that meets production standards
- Participate in technical design reviews, sprint planning, and project execution
- Collaborate with product, UX, QA, and other engineering teams to deliver high-impact features
- Investigate and resolve complex issues across the device-mobile-cloud stack
- Contribute to continuous improvement of team processes, tools, and engineering practices
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- Knowledge of computer science fundamentals (e.g., data structures & algorithms, OO design)
- Experience in English-language communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience building and shipping cloud services or mobile apps
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in one or more of the following: Native mobile development (Android/iOS), Python, Objective-C, Swift, C#, HTML5/CSS3/JavaScript, web and server programming and Responsive/Adaptive design, Java, SQL- Experience with AWS or cloud technologies
- Experience in one or more relevant front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, etc.
- Familiarity with REST APIs, CI/CD workflows, and scalable system design
- Exposure to cross-platform development, device integration, or consumer hardware
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment
