Senior Android engineer based in Pune responsible for designing and delivering secure, scalable mobile solutions within an agile Consumer and Community Banking team. The role includes developing high-quality production code, producing architecture and design artifacts, debugging and profiling using Android Studio tools, and driving improvements through data insights. You'll mentor and lead technologists on complex Android problems, promote best practices including automated testing and design patterns, and collaborate on API integration and distributed system concerns.

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorganChase within the Consumer and Community Banking, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
- Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
- Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
- Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
- Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
- Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience.
- Formal training or certification on Native Android Engineering concepts and 7+ years applied experience. In addition, 3+ years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within Android development.
- In-depth knowledge of the services industry and their IT systems and practical cloud native experience.
- Experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and expertise in technology disciplines.
- Use of Android frameworks and APIs such as Android SDK, Jetpack libraries (LiveData, ViewModel, Room, Navigation), XML layouts, Jetpack Compose.
- Experience using Android Studio tools including Layout Inspector, Profiler, Logcat, and Memory Analyzer for debugging and profiling.
- Strong experience with Data Structures, Type Conversions, Multi-Threading. Experience with one or more Design Patterns – MVC, MVVM, MVI, MVP, Singleton.
- Enthusiasm for automated testing and experience with unit testing frameworks such as JUnit and Espresso. Understanding of build systems such as Gradle and Jenkins.
- Worked in an Agile development environment and well versed with agile ceremonies.
- Experience working with API integration, distributed systems, caching, and persistence solutions.
- Demonstrated skill and passion for operational excellence, customer-focused mindset, taking pride in creating an informative data-driven journey.
