A great opportunity is work within the Personalised Experiences and Communications (PEC) platform for a Android Software Engineer. As the Android Software Engineer you'll lead, direct and shape approaches to solving technical challenges and translating business requirements into technical solutions. You will work in a highly collaborative way to drive efforts to create, build, support and improve our software working closely with the product and engineering teams with lots of exciting new challenges! You'll be a core contributor to ensure good quality and engineering practices are followed in accordance with engineering transformation strategy!

What you'll need
An ideal Android Software Engineer for the Comms Lab will have broad technical experience with a passion for engineering excellence. We are looking for a dynamic and adaptable individual, able to use and learn new skills in varying circumstances. You'll be curious about technology and understanding how things work and influence positively - demonstrating the right values and behaviours and encouraging this in team members.
We would be looking for the following…
- Excellent Native Mobile Development in Android (Kotlin)
- Extensive experience of JavaScript
- Experience with modern JavaScript libraries and tooling, such as Reactjs, Redux, Webpack
- Commanding grasp of HTML, CSS, and related web technologies
- Experience on Front-End test automation
- Familiarity with server-side REST APIs and JSON
- Working with the Strategy and UX/UI Design teams as well as customer organizations to architect, design, and implement solutions.
- You're excited by the changing Android landscape, and care deeply about learning new technologies and patterns
It would be great if you also had…
- Creating and managing frameworks in a modular codebase
- Knowledge of unit testing using Quick/Nimble
- Experience of reviewing other developers’ code
- Experience with scripting languages, e.g. ruby
- PromiseKit, Jenkins, Fastlane
