We are looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team and make a difference!

ShipTech systems form the connective tissue between shipment and carriers enabling critical transportation functions for Amazon. It enables Shippers to ship and deliver shipments to customers by the promised date and manages shipment lifecycle.

We are looking for quality assurances engineers with a penchant for solving complex problems & improve testing productivity using automation & tooling. You will have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of technologies from front-end UI to back-end distributed services. You will own the quality of major deliverables end-to-end, working closely with stakeholders to execute them. Quality Assurance Engineer (QAE) test code at both the service and user level, using a variety of testing techniques, both manually and with automated tools. You will work to be able to understand software internals, debug complex problems, and write automated tests in and/or using existing automated tools. QAE work with Software Development Engineers, and Technical Program Managers to understand technical implementation of features. Looking for a strong QAE who enjoys being challenged and can work independently with multiple stakeholders such as product managers, TPMs, SDMs, SDEs, partner teams to setup quality best practices and write solid test strategies for long term success.

These engineers will provide the technical leadership to the team, drive best practices, mentor other engineers and drive continuous improvements in engineering excellence.


Key job responsibilities
1. Own writing and maintaining comprehensive test strategy/plans, test cases and execute the same to assure quality of ShipTech software releases
2. Work closely with SDEs, Product Managers, TPMs, QAEs, SDETs, and other stakeholders to ensure a seamless integration of quality throughout the development lifecycle.
3. Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design to design and debug/maintain test automation scripts.
4. Create, maintain, and execute test cases, test scripts, and test scenarios for various software components, including functional, regression, performance, and security testing
5. Perform initial defect triage and root cause analysis, correctly log defects and collaborate with cross-functional teams so they can address issues.
6. Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as the ability to think clearly and analytically, problem solving, scope business requirements, and prioritize work on projects.
7. Actively participate in retrospectives and contribute to process improvements to enhance overall product quality.

8. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in QA and testing, and apply this knowledge to continuously improve testing processes.
9. Enhance key metrics for measuring and reporting on the quality of software products and test effectiveness.

Our ShipTech QA team plays central role in quality efforts for top strategic initiatives within the ShipTech org. Our vision is to reliably measure & assure quality of software releases at high velocity with focus on improving customer satisfaction, move quality upstream, provide reviews & audits through consultation and improve testing productivity using automation & tooling.

Basic Qualifications

- 2+ years of quality assurance engineering experience
- Experience in automation testing
- Experience in manual testing
- Experience in UI and API automation testing (Selenium/SOAPUI)

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in API & Mobile testing
- Experience designing and planning test conditions, test scripts, and test data sets to ensure appropriate and adequate coverage and control
