Join AWS Human Access Security as a Software Development Engineer II to build new tooling that protects customer data by integrating data from logs, configurations, and other sources, turning it into actionable safety insights. You’ll work with a small team and collaborate with security engineers, software developers, and technical program managers to deliver customer-centric solutions and meet deliverables across the full software development lifecycle. The role emphasizes tackling challenging, previously unexplored problems and delivering clean, scalable designs while contributing to code reviews and knowledge sharing within the team.

Are you ready to make a significant impact protecting AWS customer data? Do you enjoy simplifying problems with automation? Come join AWS Human Access Security!

At AWS, our customer's data is of the utmost importance. We're looking for you to join our team and dive into understanding how our internal teams manage the infrastructure supporting our products and services. You'll develop innovative solutions combining data from logs, configurations, and other sources to then develop logic to ensure customer data remains safe and secure. These realizations must be accurate and easily consumable by a wide range of customers from internal to external.

Our team is expanding quickly, and we want you as a Software Development Engineer to build the next generation of tools that maintain AWS's leadership position in market. You'll work on new tooling rather than existing products, tackling difficult problems we haven't explored yet. You'll bring clarity to complex challenges and identify simple, elegant designs.

Your design decisions will enable new features. Other SDEs will support you with long-term goals, but we expect you to make smart decisions and contribute significantly to the full software development lifecycle.

AWS Human Access Security puts customers first and removes burdens from internal service teams. Come join us to make history with AWS!

Key job responsibilities
You are expected to dive deep into the tools, data, and processes that exist to find innovative ways to solve our challenges.

You are responsible for working with a small team and effectively communicating with security engineers, other software developers, and technical program managers to advocate for customers and meet deliverable timelines.

You are expected to contribute not only to your own projects but also to review other projects on the team and share your knowledge and experience with others to grow our organization.

A day in the life
Daily work includes close collaboration with our co-located team. You'll balance focused development time with meetings to ensure effective collaboration and impactful contributions
