Amazon's Global Finance Services is seeking a Software Development Engineer. You will design, develop, and deploy reliable multi-tier distributed software at scale using Java, Linux, AWS, and GenAI. You will estimate engineering effort, plan implementations, and deliver features with focus on functionality, performance, scalability, and reliability, collaborating across teams and providing on-call production support for payment platform applications. About the role: Amazon's Global Finance Services (GFS) team is a fast-paced, team-focused, dynamic environment and delivering great experiences for our customers is top priority. GFS is seeking a Software Development Engineer.
As an Amazon SDE, You will design, develop, and deploy reliable distributed solutions at Amazon scale, working with core technologies including Java, Linux,AWS services and GenAI. Collaboration with teams across Amazon will be essential as you help redefine the industry. The ideal candidate excels in ambiguous environments, builds high-risk components first, and maintains focus on architectural goals while delivering incremental launches. You should create scalable, robust, and elegant solutions, valuing simplicity in solving complex problems.
Your analytical approach should be data-driven, with a deep understanding of customer needs and a passion for innovating on their behalf. You will participate in setting development team quality standards while maintaining a big-picture perspective. Key job responsibilities
Define, design, and implement multi-tier distributed software applications.
Estimate engineering effort, plan implementation, and rollout system changes that meet requirements for functionality, performance, scalability, reliability, and adherence to development goals and principles.
Must be able to independently design code and test major features, as well as work jointly with other team members to deliver complex changes.
Must be able to effectively collaborate in a fast paced environment with multiple teams in a large organization (software development, QA, Project/Release Management, Build and Release, etc.,).
Provide on-call production support for payment platform applications
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 2+ years of Video Games Industry (supporting title Development, Release, or Live Ops) experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language, or experience (non-internship) in professional software development
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
