Join Amazon's Mobile App Growth engineering team as a Software Development Engineer II, focusing on building and operating the core attribution, data-passing, and optimization infrastructure powering the Worldwide PAM program. You will design, implement, and scale real-time event tracking—from install to sign-in—to third-party platforms, with fraud detection and prevention baked in, leveraging AWS and distributed systems. This role combines hands-on software development with shaping product and technical direction, mentoring engineers, and collaborating with product managers, data scientists, and external partners to drive mobile growth metrics. It's a high-impact, fast-paced environment at Day 1 with opportunities to influence architecture and the customer experience.
The Mobile App Growth team accelerates Amazon retail app adoption by partnering with third-party advertising platforms (e.g., META , Google) to articulate to customers why they should download and sign in to the Amazon shopping app. Our messages surface outside Amazon on 100K+ apps worldwide, with a goal of driving mobile app First Time Sign-In (FTSI). The Mobile Growth tech team owns the underlying attribution and data-passing service that enables third-party partners to programmatically optimize campaigns through a closed-loop system, alongside fraud prevention enhancements.
We are seeking a talented SDE II to join our Mobile Growth engineering team. The role centers on designing, building, and operating the core attribution, data-passing, and optimization infrastructure that powers Amazon's worldwide PAM program. Ownership spans critical systems across the closed-loop attribution pipeline - from install and sign-in event tracking, to real-time data passing to third-party platforms, to fraud detection and prevention engines - all built as highly scalable, low-latency distributed services on AWS, processing billions of events across worldwide locales.
Beyond hands - on engineering, this role demands active involvement in shaping product and technical direction, defining key features that impact business metrics, and working with Senior Engineers to evolve the team's architecture and design. Collaboration is central - partnering with Product Managers, Data Scientists, third-party platform partners, country-level PAM program managers, and WW engineering teams to align technical solutions with business goals. Equally important is the responsibility of holding a high software quality bar, providing technical direction, mentoring fellow engineers, and fostering a culture of operational excellence.
This is a high-impact role where you'll shape mobile growth technology for some of the world's fastest-growing marketplaces. Come join a fast-paced, exploratory team that obsesses about customer experience, enjoys flexibility to pursue what makes sense, and is always eager to take on big challenges. It's still Day 1.
