As a CRM Senior Test Engineer at Barclays, you will lead the evolution of test automation infrastructure and deployment pipelines for Salesforce-powered solutions. You will build and manage scalable test automation frameworks using Provar, Playwright, and Selenium, and design testing strategies across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Experience Cloud. You will mentor teams in agile testing, drive CI/CD integration, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure quality and reliability from Pune.

You will harness cutting-edge technology to build and manage robust, scalable and secure test automation frameworks, ensuring seamless delivery of our Salesforce-powered digital solutions.

To be successful as a CRM Senior Test Engineer, you should have experience with:

  • Salesforce testing expertise across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Experience Cloud with deep understanding of Salesforce configuration, customization, data models, security models, workflows, process automation, and API integrations.

  • Hands-on test automation experience with Provar (Salesforce automation), Playwright (JavaScript/TypeScript), and Selenium WebDriver (Java) including expertise in building scalable automation frameworks using Page Object Model, Hybrid, and Data-Driven patterns.

  • Strong programming and framework proficiency in Java, JavaScript, TestNG, JUnit, Cucumber (BDD), Maven/Gradle, Git version control, and comprehensive API testing using REST Assured, Postman, or similar tools with proven ability to design and implement CI/CD pipelines.

  • Proven leadership in agile testing methodologies with expertise in test strategy development, regression/functional/integration/end-to-end testing, test data management, JIRA/X-Ray test management, DevOps tools (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab), and ability to mentor teams while collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.

Some other highly valued skills may include:

  • Advanced DevOps and CI/CD expertise including pipeline integration, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), infrastructure-as-code, BrowserStack/cloud testing integration, and zero-configuration deployment strategies.

  • ETL testing and database proficiency with Unix shell scripting, advanced SQL for data validation, Ab Initio knowledge, and experience with performance testing tools (JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling).

  • AI/ML-driven testing innovation including implementation of intelligent test generation, self-healing tests, test optimization algorithms, codeless automation platforms, and shift-left testing practices.

  • Proactive innovation mindset with track record of introducing new testing technologies, driving quality transformation initiatives, bringing creative solutions to complex problems, and demonstrating strong business acumen in banking/financial services domain.

Purpose of the role

To design, develop, and execute testing strategies to validate functionality, performance, and user experience, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve defects, and continuously improve testing processes and methodologies, to ensure software quality and reliability. 

Accountabilities

  • Development and implementation of comprehensive test plans and strategies to validate software functionality and ensure compliance with established quality standards.
  • Creation and execution automated test scripts, leveraging testing frameworks and tools to facilitate early detection of defects and quality issues.  .
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams to analyse requirements, participate in design discussions, and contribute to the development of acceptance criteria, ensuring a thorough understanding of the software being tested.
  • Root cause analysis for identified defects, working closely with developers to provide detailed information and support defect resolution.
  • Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations, and actively contribute to the organization's technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.

Assistant Vice President Expectations

  • To advise and influence decision making, contribute to policy development and take responsibility for operational effectiveness. Collaborate closely with other functions/ business divisions.
