Lead automation testing initiatives for end-to-end payments solutions, driving test strategy, automation frameworks, and CI/CD integration to ensure high-quality digital payment delivery. Mentor and coach team members, participate in code reviews, and promote testing best practices and technical excellence within the Engineering Automation Program. Contribute to risk, controls and transformation activities and leverage AI and DevOps tooling to optimize test effectiveness.

Join us as a Vulnerability Remediation – Automation Test Lead at Barclays in the Payments area, you will play a pivotal role in supporting End-to-End (E2E) Test Programs and driving excellence within the Testing Community of Practice under the Engineering Automation Program (EAP). You will lead automation initiatives, ensure robust testing strategies, and enable seamless delivery of high-quality digital payment solutions.

 To be successful as a Vulnerability Remediation – Automation Test Lead , you should have experience with:

  • Strong expertise in test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar).

  • Hands-on experience in API testing and automation (REST/SOAP using tools like Postman, Rest Assured, Karate).

  • Proficiency in programming languages (Java, or similar for automation scripting).

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools (Jenkins, Gitlab, Maven, Docker).

  • Knowledge of Payments domain (such as SWIFT, ISO 20022, real-time payments).

  • Ability to Leverage AI for Test Optimization, Data Analysis, etc.

  • Strong understanding of software testing principles, SDLC, and Agile methodologies.

  • Strong with Functional and E2E Test understanding.

 Some other highly valued skills may include:

  • Experience with performance testing tools (such as JMeter, LoadRunner).

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (such as AWS, Azure, GCP).

  • Exposure to test management tools (such as JIRA, Confluence).

The role is based out of Pune.

Purpose of the role

To design, develop, and execute testing strategies to validate functionality, performance, and user experience, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve defects, and continuously improve testing processes and methodologies, to ensure software quality and reliability. 

Accountabilities

  • Development and implementation of comprehensive test plans and strategies to validate software functionality and ensure compliance with established quality standards.
  • Creation and execution automated test scripts, leveraging testing frameworks and tools to facilitate early detection of defects and quality issues.  .
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams to analyse requirements, participate in design discussions, and contribute to the development of acceptance criteria, ensuring a thorough understanding of the software being tested.
  • Root cause analysis for identified defects, working closely with developers to provide detailed information and support defect resolution.
  • Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations, and actively contribute to the organization's technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
