Capgemini is seeking a NetWeaver Portal Functional & WDJ Developer with 3-4 years of Web Dynpro Java experience to design, develop, and deploy Portal applications on NWDS. The role involves documenting functional and non-functional requirements, creating functional design documents and prototypes, and performing functional testing, reviews, and support. The candidate will work closely with project leads, participate in estimations, follow coding best practices, and troubleshoot portal deployments while collaborating with customers and internal resources. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications:

  • Candidate must possess at least Bachelor’s/College Degree
  • At least 3-4 years of working experience in Web Dynpro Java framework
  • Must be knowledgeable in Component-based architecture (Components, Controllers, Views, and Windows).
  • Must be knowledgeable in (Context mapping and data binding and inbound/outbound plugs)
  • Must be knowledgeable in NetWeaver Web portal configuration and design (Creation of pages, roles, views, windows and customizing log in pages)
  • Must be knowledgeable with Netweaver web portal administration page
  • Knowledgeable in Netweaver Web portal logs is a plus
  • Basic understanding in Message handling and exception management
  • Must be knowledgeable in NWDS (NetWeaver Developer Studio – Eclipse-based)
  • Knowledgeable in Application deployment and troubleshooting
  • Basic understanding in backend system like (SAP) is a plus
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, particularly with regards to anticipating and solving problems, issues, or concerns before they occur or become critical.
  • Very strong written, verbal and non-verbal communication skills with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Time management and prioritization skills

Responsibilities:

  • Document functional and non-functional requirements based on interactions with customers.
  • Create functional design documents and prototypes based on analysis of requirements.
  • Write detailed functional specifications meeting the standards.
  • Review and test completed modifications for functional accuracy.
  • Provide support during training for customers and internal resources.
  • Participate in estimation activities and efforts associated with functional requirements.
  • Follow best coding practices to ensure quality of own & team’s deliverables.
  • Work closely with Project Lead/Manager by sending status reports religiously and raising issues/risks as early as possible.
  • Perform Java programming and consultation, testing, peer review and debugging functions related to the implementation of Portal applications.
  • Handle low to complex Java developments based on Functional designs.
  • Able to design and develop Portal applications and troubleshoot and fix issues for projects and application support.
  • Fix any defects and performance issues identified during functional and user acceptance testing and during go-live support.
  • Participate as part of a team and maintain good relationships with team members.
  • Participate and provide bottom-up estimations for technical requirements/developments.
  • Responsible for optimizing existing portal java applications.
  • Document the testing for future reference.
  • Participate as part of a team and maintain good relationships with team members.
  • Comply with all CG company policies and procedure such as, on-time completion of ESS, Replicon, trainings and the like.
