Extend the Commodities Trading Application Development team in Houston, TX or Stamford, CT and work on the full life cycle of a commodities trade platform, including exchange interfaces, trade entry, confirmation, physical scheduling, P/L processing, risk management, and settlement. The role requires strong software development skills for multi-tier client/server applications and robust database development, with experience in Java and Oracle and CI/CD practices. You will analyze and resolve day-to-day problems, manage multiple tasks, and direct offshore development teams. Qualifications include 10+ years delivering ETRM development and support in a commodity trading environment, experience with Triple Point (TPT) CommodityXL (CXL) or similar systems, and cloud exposure to AWS or Azure.
Responsibilities:
Development environment consisting of Java, & Oracle.
Experience with source control, build and deployment techniques, full lifecycle management, unit testing, regression testing, and continuous integration testing.
Analyze and resolve day-to-day problems; manage multiple concurrent tasks and shifting priorities; interact with technical and user personnel and ability to work with little supervision on assigned tasks.
Direct and manage offshore development teams.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in any relevant discipline such as Mathematics, Computer Science, or Engineering.
10+ years of experience successfully delivering ETRM development and support in a commodity trading company.
Experience working with a US based management team and global development team with offshore development.
Proven ability to directly interface with business users on the entire SDLC.
Significant experience in Triple Point (TPT) CommodityXL (CXL) or similar full scale ETRM system.
Experience in interfacing with commodity exchanges (ICE, CME, NYMEX).
Working knowledge in cloud platforms like AWS and Azure.
