Role Description

This role is for a QA Engineer – Automation & Core Banking Domain Expertise who has very good hands-on experience in the banking domain, especially in Core banking with experience handling various payment flows in all formats. The candidate should have a strong technical background, analytical and problem-solving skills and be willing to work as part of a team responsible for implementing high-quality, performant, legacy, and robust technology. The QA Test Engineer will interact with teams in multiple locations to deliver tightly integrated global solutions. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, a self-starter, and have a strong sense of teamwork and personal responsibility. Technical strength and self-drive are required, with inputs provided from next level.

• Critical to have very good knowledge and hands-on experience of Banking domain (Senior Experienced level), especially on Core Banking modules with expertise in Payment Processing (front to back – end to end) in all formats and types with good hands-on SWIFT (MT, MX, ISO message formats). Experience working with various Core banking modules/products including accounting modules – processing, charging, billing, facilities – limits, balance transfer, cash pooling, account & interest statements, etc. Excellent testing skills with leadership qualities.
• Experience working in Core-Banking Modules with exposure to System, System Integration (SIT), User Acceptance Testing with business interaction. Experience with legacy systems (Tandem/Mainframes) is an advantage.
• Excellent testing skills with exposure to all levels and types of testing.
• Must have automation exposure with hands-on experience creating/working in automation frameworks for legacy core banking applications. Experience in automation framework creation with latest technologies is good to have.
• Hands-on experience in legacy Tandem platform (similar to mainframes) with technical background in Cobol, TAL, Enform, Enscribe database, OSS on Tandem mainframe environment. Exposure to latest technologies including Java (latest versions), RDBMS Oracle-SQL-PL/SQL, JDBC, tools like IntelliJ, SQL Developer, Fabric-DAP Console, Jenkins, Maven, continuous integration & deployment tools, microservices, APIs, SOAP-REST services, message brokers like MQ and Kafka. Exposure to BDD-Cucumber framework or similar is essential.
• Keen eye for detail, analytical mind, problem-solving aptitude, excellent communication, and strong organizational skills.
• Senior role in banking domain handling all types of real payment flows worldwide, performing detailed QA activities in complete Agile SDLC cycle. Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout SDLC and liaise with development teams to identify system requirements and ensure test coverage.
• Hands-on creation of test artifacts including test requirements analysis, review, test risk assessments, test approach, strategy, plan, case creation, execution, traceability, defect lifecycle, and test closure as per industry standards aligned with organization standards.

Your key responsibilities

• Participate in software development lifecycle for targeted components according to functional/technical solution design, data mapping, and product backlog in all forms of testing.
• Follow Agile (Scrum) development practices and help maintain code quality, organization, and test coverage.
• Strong understanding of Core-Banking modules with good business flow. Hands-on exposure to User Acceptance Testing is an advantage.
• Good testing skills (all levels and types) with hands-on exposure to test automation creation and execution.
• Thorough documentation and maintenance of test evidence as per project schedule for system, SIT, UAT, and business testing.
• Participate in requirements analysis, design and automation code reviews, integration testing. Contribute to code measurement and analysis for optimum quality and performance.
• Engage with technical architects, business analysts, developers and product teams to promote system enhancements.
• Participate in entire test cycle especially system integration testing and user acceptance testing focusing on core banking modules with hands-on payments flow.
• Track and report test and automation progress to project managers, scrum master, system architects, and developers.
• Continuously improve team performance regarding Agile/Scrum practices.
• Provide support for technical infrastructure components and participate in issue resolution via QA practices targeting defects/bugs.
• Analyze user stories with developers and functional analysts, actively participate in sprint reviews.
• Design and implement test architecture for test automation. Continuously monitor and improve functional performance of automation.
• Implement QA practices including test case preparation and execution.
• Debug test scripts and prepare test cases.
• Identify and create test data for test execution.
• Utilize Cucumber, JIRA, JUnit, Maven, log4j, HP ALM, IntelliJ/Eclipse, Selenium WebDriver, Agile-Scrum, SDLC, Java, Unix, web services testing/SOA testing, JMS messages testing, data transformation and cache storing.

Your skills and experience

• Senior experienced profile with good exposure to core banking domain, especially payment processing (complete front to back/end to end) with functional and non-functional testing skills and automation exposure. Must have automation framework development and execution experience.
• Experience working on core banking applications to fulfill key responsibilities. Quick learner in domain and technology.
• Good banking business flow knowledge with experience working in all forms of software development lifecycle teams.
• Good hands-on automation framework development experience for complex banking applications with adaptability to upskill with changes in technology and tools.
• Keen eye for detail, analytical mind, problem-solving aptitude, excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Good attitude with leadership skills.
• Exposure to working with diverse global teams.
