EY GDS Poland is seeking a Guidewire Manager/Technical Lead in Katowice to lead technical streams of Guidewire implementation projects within an international, agile environment. The role involves acting as a Technical Lead, mentoring project teams, coordinating with onsite coordinators, and planning/delivering project deliverables, with willingness to travel to client sites. The ideal candidate has Java/Guidewire development experience, strong JVM knowledge, and a track record in agile delivery. You will work on Insurance Transformations using modern data technologies and cloud platforms as part of EY’s global team.

Location: Katowice - 2 days office / 3 days remote

The opportunity

 

As a Guidewire Developer you will participate in various streams of Insurance platform implementation projects, collaborate with agile team members in order to achieve project and client goals and be a part of Business Insurance Transformations. We are looking for a passionate developer willing to move our projects on the new track! You will use the most advanced technology stack and have an opportunity to implement new solutions while working with top leaders in their industries. As a part of our global team, you will participate in international projects based on latest data technologies and cloud platforms.

 

Your key responsibilities

 

  • Need to work as a Technical Lead to contribute in various technical streams of Guidewire implementation projects.
  • Interface and communicate with the onsite coordinators.
  • Planning and monitoring of the project deliverables from the team.
  • Mentor the project team in executing the identified projects.
  • Willing to travel to the customers locations on need basis.
  • Participating in the organization-wide people initiatives.

 

Skills and attributes for success

 

  • Experience in Java/Guidewire development
  • Understanding of any JVM technologies or surrounding ecosystem (e.g., Java 8, J2EE, XML, SOAP, REST, SQL, PL/SQL, Spring, Hibernate, any Application Server, any Enterprise Messaging System)
  • Awareness of good coding practices (Clean Code, Design Patterns)

 

To qualify for the role, you must have

 

  • Industry experience industry experience of around 9 years and above
  • Excellent business communication, client facing, leadership or/and project management skills
  • Experience in J2EE, XML, Web Services, SQL, ANT
  • Experience in agile / scrum methodology
  • Willingness to travel to the customers locations on need basis
  • Excellent English language verbal and written communication, German or other European language will be an advantage

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

 

  • Hands-on experience with Angular 5
  • Working experience with Kotlin
  • German / French would be a strong asset
