Job Summary

Multi-Asset Solutions (MAS) is an investing group within the Asset Management Division at Goldman Sachs that manages customized multi-asset class portfolios and funds. MAS serves US and international public pension plans, sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, and provides outsourced CIO services. The team consists of professionals with diverse investment backgrounds who specialize in designing and implementing tailored multi-asset strategies.

This position offers the chance to work on cutting-edge investment technology solutions that directly influence major institutional portfolios, providing unparalleled exposure to both advanced engineering practices and global financial markets.

Responsibilities

• This role involves partnering with the MAS investing group and an energetic engineering team to build a portfolio construction and order creation platform that supports order generation across multiple asset classes.
• Modernize data platform supporting the investment process.
• Collaborate with MAS investment professionals to design, build, test, and enhance software features throughout the development lifecycle.
• Develop new platform functionality from the ground up, aligning with firm principles and leveraging your creativity and technical expertise.
• Work closely with stakeholders to iterate on designs and refine products for maximum commercial impact.
• Integrate new tools and workflows into existing systems in partnership with other teams.
• Take ownership of projects end-to-end, applying sound design and development practices.
• Engage in a collaborative, customer-centric team environment focused on delivering impactful solutions.

Skills & Experience

• 5–7 years of hands-on development experience (NodeJS, Java, or full stack) with exposure to the complete software development lifecycle
• Proficiency in NodeJS, Java, or another object-oriented programming language
• Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as Angular or React, and familiarity with HTML5 and CSS
• Relational database experience (e.g., Sybase, SingleStore) and/or NoSQL database experience (e.g., MongoDB)
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns
• Demonstrated strong work ethic, ownership, and a sense of urgency
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with subject matter experts
• Ability to maintain commercial focus and drive for quantifiable business impact
