Lead the development team for Java/Spring backend, architect and implement complex microservices, and drive backend standards, testing and deployment in cloud/containers. You will guide technical decisions, coordinate with product owners, business analysts, frontend and DevOps, and contribute to the technical roadmap. The role is in an agile environment, involves sprint refinement, API integrations and maintaining scalable, resilient systems.

Your tasks

  • Understanding and analyzing business requirements and architecture and defining and designing the appropriate functional solutions to be realized by the development team;
  • Designing and implementing complex backend logic using Java and the Spring ecosystem;
  • Architecting and developing new reusable microservices ensuring resilience scalability and maintainability;
  • Defining and enforcing backend development standards, best practices and coding guidelines;
  • Driving technical decision-making, including technology selection and architectural improvements;
  • Advising and consulting product owner, business analysts, Frontend and DevOps engineers on functional concepts of the application and on business processes or workflow optimization. Coordinating and leading other team members;
  • Integrating third-party services and internal systems using secure REST or messaging protocols;
  • Overseeing CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies in cloud and/or containerized environments;
  • Defining functional test scenarios as well as quality assurance measures. In that context you will be also supporting and coordinating test activities;
  • Actively contributing to sprint refinement and estimating technical tasks with the team;
  • Creating detailed technical specifications and architecture diagrams for your components;
  • Keeping up with Java updates and sharing interesting findings with your peers;
  • Contributing to long-term technical roadmap planning and platform evolution.
  • Working in an Agile team setup.

Your profile

  • Proficiency in Java / Spring Framework;
  • High knowledge of Microservice-oriented analysis and architecture;
  • Previous experience with RESTful Web Services, Relational databases, Git, Object-oriented Design and unit testing;
  • Good knowledge of messaging services (Kafka, Google Pub/Sub);
  • High analytical thinking with attention to details and problem-solving attitude;
  • Fluency in English – both written and spoken;
  • University degree in IT or relevant.
