We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Associate Director, Software Engineering.

Business: CIB - Client Services Tech

Principal responsibilities:

  • You will be an active member of the CIB Client Services Engineering Leadership team, driving engineering standards in engineering team.
  • You will be designing and building solutions, using microservice architecture, working closely with the product team to understand the requirements and impact of changes being made.
  • You will design, develop, and maintain scalable, robust applications using Java 17, Spring Boot, MuServer and Microservices architecture.
  • You will work with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features.
  • You will provide support across the end-to-end delivery and run lifecycle, utilizing their skills and expertise to carry out software development, testing and operational support activities with the ability to move between these according to demand.
  • You will ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
  • You will be working to release change to production every day, across the entire team - owning requirements through discussions with the business through to development, testing, release to and support of production.
  • You will be expected to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact solutions.
  • You will stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies, including AI/ML models.
  • You will be leading the delivery of document data extraction and unstructured data processing capabilities.
  • You will ensure service resilience, service sustainability and recovery time objectives are met for all the software solutions delivered.

Qualifications:

  • Strong experience delivering product to production, at pace.
  • Extensive experience developing microservices using highly iterative methods to deliver change to production regularly.
  • Experience delivering microservices without using frameworks like SpringBoot is a plus.
  • Strong background in backend technologies and scalable software architecture.
  • Expertise in developing and consuming REST APIs.
  • Given AI is an ever-evolving field, and appetite to keep learning and staying on top of latest developments to drive to team to stay at the forefront of technology developments.
  • Strong understanding on agile development methodology and fast delivery cadence.
  • Fluent English speaking and professional business writing skills.
