As Chapter Lead API Engineer, you lead a chapter of engineers and coach them to advance their skills while contributing to ING's digitalization vision. You bring extensive Java microservices experience and a strong focus on backend development, reliability, and security in the banking domain. You collaborate across tribes and squads, drive continuous improvements, and propose creative solutions to complex, production-critical applications. You balance people leadership with hands-on engineering, and help automate deployments, testing, and incident response using Azure DevOps and modern tooling.
Are you up for developing complex systems at scale in one of the biggest players in the Dutch Mortgages market? At ING Mortgages NL we are looking for a Chapterlead API Engineer to help us realize our digitalization vision as well as grow our engineers in their expertise on the state of the art backend development.
Mortgages
A mortgage is one of the most important financial decisions in the life of our customers. Our purpose: we offer customers financial and emotional stability when purchasing their dream house and offer a carefree living afterwards. We provide them with excellent advice and exceed customers and intermediary expectations.
The team
The people in your chapter are equally ambitious as you, and you like to transfer your expertise to them and feel satisfaction from coaching (both professionally as personally) your colleagues. You are ambitious with what you and your chapter want to achieve. You stimulate your chapter members towards continuous improvement of their skills. You speak up and challenge the status quo. Next to this you are also part of the leadership team of the Area, which means you co-create the area vision and effectively resource the tribe and squads.
Roles and responsibilities
We are looking for you to help others to be successful and always be a step ahead. In other words, you strive to bring fresh ideas to life and embrace challenges in a fast-changing and complex environment. You are an energetic Chapter Lead with expertise in engineering, people management and affinity with supporting critical applications, and with that make a large impact. You are a naturally collaborative person who listens and invests in others to achieve common goals. You love to challenge the status quo and are eager to propose creative solutions. Does this sound interesting?
