Job responsibilities
Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on Software Engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience in coding and development space.
Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
Proficient in Java with strong experience in Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data)
Experience with Kafka for event-driven architectures and real-time data streaming
Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL including database design, query optimization, and performance tuning
Proficiency in React JS for building modern, responsive user interfaces
Hands-on experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration and deployment. Experience with both private and public cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, or on-premises cloud platforms)
Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages. Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
Strong experience with RESTful API design and microservices architecture
Proficiency in version control systems (Git) and collaborative development practices
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Familiarity with modern front-end technologies and frameworks beyond React (Angular, Vue.js)
Experience with additional messaging systems (RabbitMQ, AWS SQS, Azure Service Bus). Knowledge of NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis)
