Lead Software Engineer in JPMorganChase's Legal & Regulatory Control organization, working in an agile team to design, develop, and deliver secure, scalable enterprise software. Hands-on full-stack development with Java/Groovy/Python, AWS cloud solutions, and monitoring tools; responsible for architecture evaluation, mentorship, and driving modernization initiatives. Leads communities of practice, advocates for inclusion, and partners with external vendors to drive outcomes.

As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorganChase within the Legal & Regulatory Control organization, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

  • Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
  • Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
  • Creates detailed design documentation that demonstrates knowledge of building/supporting enterprise-level systems
  • Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
  • Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
  • Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
  • Lead others as hands on Full stack developer including designing and building AWS Cloud solutions
  • Utilize monitoring tools such as Cloud Watch, Dynatrace, and Splunk

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • 9-10 plus years of experience in full stack development with Java, Groovy, and/or Python
  • 7 plus years of hands on User Interface (UI) experience in Java script, UI Frameworks (React or Angular)
  • 9-10 plus years of hands on experience working on Java Frameworks (Spring boot, Microservices, REST API Development, Design Patterns, JPA, Junit, LOG4J)
  • Strong understanding of (Kafka, OAuth / Open ID / Windows ADFS)
  • Hands on experience working on writing SQL queries (Oracle)
  • Strong hands on experience designing and building solutions on AWS including services (EC2, S3, MSK, Lambda, ELB, ECS, EKS etc.)
  • Hands on experience on developmental toolsets (IntelliJ or Eclipse, SOAP UI or Postman)
  • Experience with source code management (GIT branches, GIT commands, Maven build concepts, CI/CD)
  • Experience with cloud-based technologies (AWS, Cloud Foundry, Kubernetes, Google, etc.)
  • Experience mentoring junior team members for career growth and strong drive and ability to learn and apply new/emerging technologies

 

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Familiarity with Splunk, Dynatrace, Atlassian Tools (JIRA, Bitbucket, Confluence)
  • Knowledge of Experimentation, Chaos Engineering, Fault Injection, and (FMEA)
  • Strong Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Cloud Watch, Dynatrace, Splunk and Open Telemetry)
  • Hands-on experience of Microservices, Data usage patterns, Event-Driven Architecture (EDA)
  • Demonstrate knowledge of cloud architecture, capture and share best-practice knowledge across teams
  • Demonstrated ability to back decisions with research and articulate several options with the pros and cons
  • AWS Certification
